Having temps right at 0 degrees or slightly above on Sunday is going to make it tough for him to get loose, let alone take a couple good wallops early on. I'm sure the Vikings will try and hush the issue this week, but if Im the Hawks, Im popping him hard, early and often.

Peterson said the back won’t prevent him from playing against the Seahawks.

“It’s a little tight, but I’ll be OK. I just got an X-ray done,” he said in the locker room after the game, when he stood up slowly to address reporters. “That was the most important thing, making sure nothing was wrong with the spine.”

“I jumped up on that last play and I don’t know if I got twisted up wrong. I don’t know,” he said. “I just remember getting up and my lower back around the spine area was – I don’t know if you can understand where I’m coming from – it was about to catch. It was spasming a little bit and it felt like if I tried to run it was going to really catch and grab. I kind of came out high-kneeing, just trying to keep it loose. I tried to work it out and it just really wouldn’t get loose.”

“I’ll be ready to roll. You seen I came back out and scratched,” he said. “It’s going to be mind over matter and I know by Sunday that my back will be a lot better. I don’t care what percent I’m at, I’ll be out there playing.”

Well ya, I didn't expect him to be out.. I was wondering if he will participate fully in practice this week

We will find out for sure on Wednesday, but I am guessing he will be out or limited in practice, at the very least.

Here's the video of Peterson discussing his back:

Strangely, Mike Zimmer was not asked specifically about Peterson during Monday's Press Conference:

Perhaps, Vikings reporters are conditioned not to ask too much about injuries on a Monday after the game. Zimmer did say the GB game took a lot out of his team:
"A lot of guys sucked it up – we had some guys hurt at the end, we were gassed. We had a couple guys throw up on the sideline that were so out of juice. But we played with a lot of fortitude, toughness, made enough plays to win the football game."

AP will play, no doubt. M Lynch has had the same back issues, AP and MS have the same mentality, they will do what ever the need to play at a high level. Back spasms are more about pain control than physically not being able to do what needs to be done. I know this from personnel experience. At least until you push to far and a disc blows out and crushes the sciatic nerve bundle. When that happens your done, crawling on the ground in pain nobody should feel, crying, all muscles in your torso cinched up..yea, kinda like that. Neither of these guys are at that point but I bet will push themselves to that brink.

For the Vikings, Seattle's opponent this Sunday at Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium, running back Adrian Peterson (low back) sat out of Wednesday's practice. Peterson, the NFL's leading rusher, left this past Sunday's NFC North-clinching win over the Green Bay Packers to injury in the game's third quarter, but was able to return.

He'll play but I doubt he'll be 100%. Which is really good news for us as the Vikes really don't have much on offense besides AP.
