"Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have relatively smooth sailing to begin their season assuming they don't hit a roadblock or sustain a major injury. A home game against the Dolphins, a short road trip to Los Angeles to possibly face a rookie quarterback, a home game against the 49ers and a road game against the Jets isn't the worst way kick off 2016.

We're assuming the Jets maintain status quo and re-sign Ryan Fitzpatrick, but that is really their best-case scenario. In fact, the Seahawks really don't have a premiere matchup until their Oct. 23 game against the Cardinals.

After that? It's a Nov. 13 game against the Patriots. Things are lining up well for Pete Carroll, who gets the tough teams atop the NFC East and NFC South, but also gets the bottom-feeders.

On a related note, which teams got the short end?

LOL!

"San Francisco 49ers

Four games against the Seahawks and Cardinals looks like four automatic losses, and the Rams are no pushovers. After starting the season on Monday Night Football against Los Angeles, the 49ers have to go to Carolina on a short week and then head to Seattle. That's a rough start for a rebuilding team with a new coach and shaky quarterback situation.

Los Angeles Rams

They are giving up one home game to London, and playing their other seven home games in a temporary facility that figures to have plenty of fans rooting for the road team. USC games at the L.A. Coliseum limit flexibility early in the schedule, resulting in the Rams having only two true home games before Nov. 6. "

One More Laugher, Guess who's matched up for MNF?

Monday Night Football, 10:20 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers.

"The Rams' first game back in Los Angeles uniforms will take place in the Bay Area. There are a lot of uncertainties here, but it could be an intriguing matchup that includes the No. 1 overall draft pick (Carson Wentz?) against the debut of Chip Kelly 2.0 in San Francisco. It's also a rare chance for a national audience to see why Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald are so special."

This was my biggest surprise of the schedule. I thought the Niners would open week one at the Coliseum.

However, it looks like there are issues with scheduling the USC and Rams games.

I dont love being the first team to play in LA. Theres going to be a lot of emotion in that building. Wonder what the line ends up at? That should be worth 3 points in the bookmakers heads alone. On top of the normal 3 points for a home game.

The Seahawks received the most fortunate schedule....bar none!! This schedule is 50% easier than last year's schedule......at least 50%. The Hawks ought to be the happiest NFL team on the planet with the reality that the Rams have moved to the West Coast.

This is the easiest schedule right now. But this could all change. While a lot of team maintain the status quo and are either good or bad again, theres always a few teams that move up the ranks.

The NFCS could come alive. Easily. Another team but the patriots in the AFCE could start take off. This stuff happens.

Its easy now, it may not end being the easiest by the end of the year.

I love having our toughest opponents (Patriots, Panthers, Packers) in the back half of our schedule. As we know, historically that's when PC's teams crank it up a notch.

2nd halves of seasons:

Pete with Seahawks (reg season)
2010: 3 – 5, score: 180 – 226
2011: 5 – 3, score: 199 – 130
2012: 7 – 1, score: 272 – 111
2013: 6 – 2, score: 212 – 108
2014: 7 – 1, score: 192 – 80
2015: 6 – 2, score: 256 – 137

Total: 34 – 14 (70.8%), 1311 – 792 (27.3 – 16.5 avg per game)

Pete with Seahawks (playoffs)
8 – 4 (66.7%), 323-262 (26.9 – 21.8]

Pete with USC (incl bowl games)

2002: 7 – 0, score: 302 – 135 (5 teams ranked in the top 25)
2003: 7 – 0, score: 303 – 117 (2 teams in top 10)
2004: 7 – 0, score: 282 – 94 (undefeated season)
2005: 6 – 1, score: 346 – 170 (undefeated season, lost in title game)
2006: 5 – 2, score: 222 – 101 (beat 5 top-25 teams; the 2 losses were by a combined 6 points)
2007: 6 – 1, score: 220 – 92
2008: 7 – 0, score: 239 – 70
2009: 4 – 3, score: 231 – 123
