Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

  • With the number of roster moves the team makes we can probably expect to see one or two of the guys waived back here on the PS before the season ends.

I see Williams and Hamilton as prospects for return before long. Each will need to show the team they are completely healthy before it happens.

  • Maybe. But I do recall that they rotate players on and off the practice squad to keep them current and maintain a bigger pool of players beyond the official practice squad limit of 10.

With a spot now open on the practice squad, there must be another signing in the works .....

  • It's been reported via twitter the Hawks have cut Will Tukuafu and are looking at acquiring a backup RB as Rawls is now out for the next game. Rawls is hurt, Prosise is hurt, and Collins hasn't shown the ability to run in the NFL, so much for the team's depth at RB.

Until I see this from a creditable (or known reliable) source I won't update.

Hmmm who, this is how the Lynch trade stuff started.

I'd love to have the Rams back up RB.

PC got asked about the FB position today and responded with a curt 'wait and see.' Made me think it's possible they will re-sign Tuke tomorrow.

    RB Bernard Pierce
    FB Tommy Bohanon
    DB Chimdi Chekwa
    RB Kenny Hilliard
    WR Jamel Johnson
    LB Randell Johnson
LB Rufus Johnson (Twitter link via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle)
FB Darrel Young (Twitter link via Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune)

    Bernard Pierce? Could be interesting.

  • Thanks for that, Graham, like always the sifting through the castoff pile looking for the diamonds continues as JS continues his incremental and non-stop attempts to improve the team.

I could see one or more of those names making the PS for an extended look where eligible.

Pierce is interesting, so is Bohanon, I need to look harder at the others.

You can create a sharable spread sheet with google sheets that people can click on to view.
You as the boss, will have the power to let people edit, or just view.

I created a mock draft out of one that worked quite well.

  • If adding Zac Brooks back to the PS and now signing CJ Spiller to the Team doesn't light a blaze of competitive fire under CJ Prosise I can't believe anything will.

Perhaps he needs a redshirt season on IR before facing a final chance to earn his spot on the team? Maybe he's been unlucky but he seems to be a malingerer so far.

With a return to healthy on all in the RB room there is now some potentially exceptional depth at RB on the roster.

  • Thanks Kitsap!

Looking at his draft profile he ran 4.90 and 4.95 at the Georgia pro day, good long arms and tough against the run. interesting developmental prospect.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... te-workout

Defensive end Sterling Bailey -- 6-3 7/8, 281 -- ran the 40 in 4.9 and 4.95 seconds. He had a 30 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-8 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.58 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.39 seconds. He worked out good as a defensive lineman.

  • Thanks Kitsap.

Hill always was suffering from some injury, was injured, or on the injury report. He showed some genuine potential though at times with 5.5 sacks and a key INT in 2014, but was only available 27 of 48 regular season games and 2 of 8 playoff games due to injuries. His production had suffered recently b/c of injuries.

He was due to become an unlimited FA this up coming season and would not likely have been re-upped except on a very team friendly basis.

Given the potential of the younger players and their ability to stay healthy I'd be surprised to see him return, unless the DLine suffers a rash of injuries.
