I kind of thought they might just be waiting until after the draft to get them done. Now the draft and free agency and everything else has come and gone. Why hasn't Paul Allen locked them up? Any suggestions?

Pete's been negotiating his contract and that takes time?

It's not like Paul Allen just gives him a blank check.

He doesn't need to give them a blank check, $100 million ought to be enough to retain them both. :D

Last time they were up for a renewal, John's got done first and it wasn't announced until after Pete's was done and they were extended for a similar length of contract. I'd expect John's has likely been quietly done already and Pete's will be done during a down time. The only way I see Pete leaving is by his own choice, which is most likely retirement and I don't see that happening yet. If he was considering it he would likely not be negotiating the extension as has been reported.

Their checks got lost in the mail.

I'm confident they'll get a deal done soon enough

They are both obviously on the hot seat.

It's sink or swim this season boys.

They're obviously working on $1 million one-year deals with a team option for the next 99 years.
