Woh. Those numbers seem low. Excited for details.

Edit: Whoops PER YEAR.

Glad to have him around for 4 more years. The price is a bit higher than I'd like, but not unreasonable.

Wow, north of 11 million a year. Way to go Doug. I'm guessing the contract will break down favourably for Seattle though, with the largest base salaries in the final two years.

Glad he's signed for a few more years. The numbers all come down to how much is guaranteed.

Woohoo! Good news!
:229031_thewave:

Baldwin made about $11M over his first 5 seasons. This is a nice reward for a guy who just shows up, plays great, and causes no problems.

So happy for Doug and to have him around for longer!!!

Something I hope some of the people here remember is that the Media numbers are given out by the Agent and are ALWAYS skewed to make the contract look bigger than it really is.

The Seahawks followed their MO by signing yet another core guy early, which has worked out amazing for them as they've been able to use that remaining year under contract to spread out the money in the extensions and make it much more palatable to the teams salary cap long term. I'm expecting this deal to end up being a bargain just like the others have proven to be (Kam, Sherm, Earl, Russell) when we sign them early following this model.

Awesome news!

He's one of my favorite Seahawks players, and a genuinely nice guy in person.

I wasn't even expecting that he would be back at all given what kind of money he would garner on the market. I'll be interested to see how the contract actually breaks down in cap hit per year.

Good for Doug regardless.
