In the 70s some of the Seahawks players worked at Nordstoms during the off season. My Grandfather managed the shoe department. I still have a luggage tag that Sherman signed "best wishes Mike from Sherman Smith." He has always been one of my favorites. I was so happy he became the running backs coach for the Seahawks!

Excellent story..but also.. think about how times have changed. When I was a kid pro football players still had to do off season work... mind blowing.

I still can see Zorn handing off to Smith on the sprint draw. He was one of my favorites from the beginning.

He's the reason the Seahawks brass felt comfortable making the Tony Dorsett trade in 1977
