Guard Mark Glowinski, who hasn’t shied away from getting into a scrape or two, says he thinks there could be some long-term benefit to the way the defensive veterans appear to be challenging the younger offensive linemen.

“Those guys can actually be helping us, helping a guy like GI (rookie Germain Ifedi) that’s new, who is a rookie,’’ Glowinski said. “Yelling ‘hey rookie,’ just making fun of him, whatever, just to get under his skin, just so he knows what it’s like on gameday. Because they (other teams) are going to do the same thing.’’

Also with Coleman and Tukuafu gone is Cottom the FB by default?

Cottom is getting the most reps at FB, including a surprising (or not since he is also a TE) number of plays that go to him.

There are two other FBs.. Tani Tupou, #45, and Brandin Bryant #46. Those two however also play on the DL and have mostly or maybe exclusively practiced there.
