The calf injury helps explain why he looked glacially slow. That said, I think Evans was always here more as an insurance policy than as a starter. For him to make the team as a backup he would at least need to resemble an athletic player, and even if it was because of injury, he wasn't able to show that.

I didn't watch much of the preseason, but I did get to see Evans play. Even against 2nd and 3rd teams he looked terrible. Even if he is injured you should be able to expect more from him than we got.
