Finally a win in the turnover battle. Impressive. Could have had 6 picks

Would really like to have seen Thomas take that one in for a pick 6 but instead slipped thru his hands.

The catch by Sherm on his second INT was damn smooth! Beautiful.

Agreed...didn't Lane just miss one too?

Frank batted at least two passes again, the future looks good.

For a Harvard guy, Fitzpatrick makes a lot of boneheaded throws (the 3rd one to Sherm was just awful)

9 Picks in 2 weeks

Hopefully this breaks the dam and we keep getting more.

If our defense goes back to getting turn overs, and we keep winning the turnover battle, with the offense improving, it's going to be a hell of a run.

Credit to the offense the last 2 games for putting points on the board, as well.

You cannot underestimate how much this plays into our style of play. Getting a lead, especially 2 TD's, makes the opponent predictable and plays to our strong suit which is downfield pass defense and doesn't allow the dink and dunk where we are sometimes susceptible.

QFT. We haven't had that kind of lead yet this year, really. With that, and a little bit of luck, it can continue.

When Seattle is aggressive on both sides of the ball, they usually win.
When they are passive and spend a half "feeling out" other teams they usually lose, or make a
game that they won much closer than it needs to be.

Let the skill sets of your very talented players take over and the sky is the limit. :D

Eye candy is sweet but shoot 'em out games are mostly fluke affairs.

The Sky isn't the limit, the Ground is.

There were some comments during the game about how you play Seattle "carefully" and are fine punting the ball. It made me think that we are worried about why the turnovers aren't coming but ignoring that opponents "play a bit scared against us". They go over the middle, short yardage and try to get 1st downs but are happy to punt. Point being the lack of turnovers could be due to game planning that overall is helping our defense keeping the opponents to low scoring....

Just a thought

I've said this in a few threads. Yeah, when you get a rep as a team that forces turnovers, opponents tend to play more carefully and focus on things like you said.

Also, as was pointed out upthread, it helps to have a lead in a game to force the opponent to take more chances.

Agree. As soon as someone was forced to avoid a game plan that was about field position and change it to get scores the turnovers came right away.

As we expected the TO's came in a bunch, but the dam is broken and I expect we will .see more.

As I've said before, a defensive stand that results in a punt also turns the ball over on the field (even of not psychologically). I'll take punts all day long if our Offense can move the ball at all when deep in our own territory.

But the overall effect on a QB when he starts getting nervous to throw, and our D is already closing running lanes, leaves very few options left.

I'm trying to keep in mind that we just played Fitz. Other QBs will be far more careful, and accurate when they do throw.
