Hey, whatever happened to that movement that some fans started to build a giant bronze statue celebrating Sherman's "The Tip" that would reside outside the stadium? Man, that would be so awesome to have! I'm sure funding stalled...Wish we could somehow get that rolling again.

Here's some pictures from their FB page of the model...

Aros..You got the patch and now your going to want the model  Seriously I think a statue of Paul Allen and Pete should be out there before Sherm but I know that play was a big deal but it never happens without Paul/Pete

What are we Oregon? That school lives off of one stupid play. This team is much greater than one play, not only that the play was kind of a goofy occurrence.

This is an idiotic response to a defining play that led us to our first super bowl win. A goofy occurance?...really?

This is an idiotic response to a play that got them to the NEXT game which then became defining. Did they build a Dwight Clark statue? No, because that would be a Bush league thing to do. This team has many more accomplishments ahead of it.

That tip is nice. I would really much rather have a statue of Kam nailing Vernon Davis a few years ago as the symbol of the entire LOB.

I like it. Standing on a wave that has a Seahawks logo integrated into the top of it.

Hell, I'd take just the wave with the Hawks logo on it and put it in front of my house.

Give it a few more years. This team will have even more franchise defining big plays. Will be hard to top the tip but it could happen

Well think of it like this: we saw Sherm do that twice in that season, once to Earl and once on the infamous tip play.

How many times since then have we seen it ? Sometimes I think we expect the incredible on almost every play. Our guys are good, but honestly, have many times have you seen a defensive back swat a ball right to his team mate ?

I've seen plenty of tip drills. I've never seen that in the NFL before, excepting the Giants game where he tipped it to Earl in the end zone.

This post would make a GREAT Shack thread.

Have you ever considered it?

There's a ton of room around the outside of the stadium for various other statues commemorating plays of importance throughout history.

Like:
- Largent slamming Harden to cause the fumble after the interception,
- Largent in the act of catching any TD pass,
- Beastmode stiff-arming Tracy Porter to the ground,
- Russell stiff-arming (insert any one of many players),
- Zorn in the act of passing,
- Kearse with the on-the-back-bobble catch in XLIX,
- Graham's one-handed grab with two guys hanging off him,
- Walt and Hutch blocking with Alexander running between them,
- Jon Ryan's Charlie Brown throw,
- Hasselbeck's TD over the pylon in the NFCCG against the 'Skins,
- The Boz being run over by Bo Jackson...
