1993. Interestingly enough, we played the Patriots TWICE that season.

Beat them in Foxborough and in the Kingdome. I went to the game in the Kingdome, I remember it well -- Rick Mirer's rookie season, I believe.

September 19th 1993 was the last win. The Seahawks did not play the Patriots again until 2004.

OMG those years.
How can we complain about anything now?

NBC put up a statistic last night that the Seahawks have won 5 of the last 6 either against the Patriots or specifically in Foxboro, can't remember which.

This quote needs to be lacquered onto a plaque and hung at the entrance to every teams fan base.

I was at that game. Patriots were driving late and threw an INT to seal the game. 17-14, iirc.

Anyone know the unusual circumstances of why we had a non-divisional opponent scheduled twice that year? Very strange.

Before last night, Tom Brady was 77.1% on 3rd downs. :D

His completion percentage on third down before last night was 77.1%

Last night he went 6/7 (all for first downs) on third down, a rate of 85.7%.

Soooooo, not really something to be proud of there ivotuk.

Our third down defense continues to be a big time struggle.

Before the realignment in 2002, the NFL did not have a consistent, predetermined schedule where teams opponents are rotated. In 1993, you had divisions with unequal number of teams.

I think this was because back in 1993, there were only 28 teams in the NFL and when it was your turn to play one of the smaller 4 team divisions like the AFC Central, you had to play an extra conference opponent. Back then, it wasn't that uncommon to play a team that was not in your division twice in the same year (we played the Colts twice in 1994, for example). That ceased when the NFL expanded to 32 teams as there was an equal number of teams in each division.

1993 was the year with two bye weeks. The season started on 5 September and ended on week 18 January 2 1994
