I've been leading the fire Cable train since 2014 and finally people have begun to open their eyes. I'm a visual learner and have summed up my current views in the graphic below. I don't think we can jump up two scales to make a run for the SB unless we Space Jam steal talents from the Dallas Oline. Russell and Marshawn masked a lot of Cables deficiencies. Enough with the bull poop of lowest paid OL. Arizona was on their 7th different OL combination and yet they were able to give Carson a pocket for the entire series except the first drive.

Carolina was down two starters on their OL as I recall and Newton stood All. Day. Long. In the pocket while Russ ran for his life.

As I've said before, there's NFL-bad offensive line and then there's Tom Cable bad offensive line. Your graph is on the money.

Looks right to me. Smack dab in the middle of a dumpster fire and horsepoop. Which way do I run? WHICH WAY?!!!!

BTW, the guy in the striped beanie on the right side of the sites background image looks too much like a cheerful Cable, almost punched my screen.

Every single week we are facing "one of the best D-Lines in the league".

At what point don't you say, this is bullshit that we can't at least hold our own against every team for any length of time at all when other teams can and do?

The first half last Sat. was the worst I've seen a Seattle o-line play since 1976. THE ABSOLUTE WORST.

If a change isn't made this offseason with Cable, and the way we get O-Line (draft...F.A.) then this superbowl window will have closed with just one win out of so many chances.

It's a damn shame that it is just allowed to continue. Name a single year Cable has been a difference maker in o-line performance. ZBS may work with the correct personnel, but this group isn't in that category, yet are made to adhere to the principles that everyone sees on game day.

Give me a break. Arizona was on their 7th different combination of OL. Yet somehow they were able to give Palmer a pocket to throw from. Yet our genius can't coach up our starter? The pass blocking has been atrocious since 2013 and it's time people take off their rose colored glasses.

Glowinski - 4th round pick
Britt - 2nd round pick
Ifedi - 1st round pick

All have sucked except Britt (on his 3rd different position) and all were handpicked by Cable. At some point people will need to admit he has a terrible eye for talent along with being a terrible coach.

That graph is hilarious, yet accurate.

Hopefully we can get the o line to perform a little better than horsepoop in the playoffs

I get that. We all do. But these are grown ass men that act like it's a sin to even attempt to make any kind of physical contact with the opposing side. This is essentially their NFL resume they are putting on tape. I would expect more effort, regardless of how much they are currently getting paid. I say all that knowing that what we are seeing is pretty much by design, from the picks to the coach's scheme and his willy Wonka 'experiments'. It's just disappointing. And it MUST END. This season, however it ends up, should be the absolute LAST TIME we see this 'philosophy' implemented. Period. By ANY means.

I have known this OLine was Horse Poop since the pre-season yet I was called a debbie downer, negative nancy, etc...
Now it seems to be the consensus here. HORSE POOP.

They're actually a level below horse poop and near a dumpster fire. I would take horse poop over what they are now.

Careful guys, by discussing team issues and deficiencies, some on .net consider you bandwagon. Just be grateful for the do no wrong coaching staff and feel lucky we are over .500. Or actually give a shit and like to pay attention to this game and this team and take the label regardless of fandom history.

The funny thing is many of us "bandwagoners" have been fans of this team our whole lives, never switching sides when the cards are down. Maybe that is why we actually care about this stuff as we had grown tired of the mediocre team we have had for decades. There have been times here and there, but nothing compares to the talent we have right now, and it is maddening to see it wasted.

Amen brother. I spend my hard earned money on this team through Sunday Ticket, jerseys and other merchandise which contributes towards the salaries of the player. We have the right to call out a garbage product without being labeled bandwagoner

Lol. No one considers anyone bandwagon fans just because they are discussing concerns they have with the team. I read here all the time and don't see it.

Hilarious OP and great thread. Every game I hope that the OL "takes it personal" and comes to play (at least average, that's all we need).

This shouldn't make any difference, it didn't when Russ was making NFL Peanuts or when most of the secondary was being paid at the bottom. In each of those instances those players were coached up, played at an elite level and earned every bit of their 2nd contracts. That secondary with 1 1st rounder and a bunch of late round pick starters and backups was developed into the best secondary in the league.

Tom Cable has a say in the players that are drafted, these players are not being forced on him. During his time he has had 3 1st rounders (Okung, Carp and Ifedi), 2 2nd rounders (Unger - before Pete and Britt) 2 3rd rounders (Moffitt and Odhiambo) and 2 4th rounders (Poole and Glow) and a bunch of late round picks and FA, but has nothing to show for it. That is a lot of capital wasted. Its obvious he doesn't know how to identify talent, develop or coach it. He should be held accountable.

Btw - currently Dallas has 3 1st rounders a 4th rounder and UFA starting on what most consider the best Oline in the business. Cable has had similar talent (draft round) and his lines have consistently been at the bottom.

OP you are not alone on that train. Cable has been overrated since his days in Atlanta and I wish he had been gone long ago.

As I stated in my post above I see no proof that he is either a good talent evaluator or a good coach. His Oline is and has been the weak link and is holding this team back. The windows in the NFL are short and can close without warning (Niners) this is still a championship defense, but the offense isn't largely because of his crap line.

He also sucks as the run game coordinator. His run game only works if the QB can run (Russ now, Vick in Atlanta). It is inexcusable that the run game has looked as bad as it has this year.

He should be fired.

If Pete doesn't do something about it in the offseason his 'always compete' mantra will lose credibility, at least in my eyes. You can't keep saying that and at the same time trotting this guy's garbage out to protect Russ every week.

You could draft at least one player over the course of 4 years who actually becomes amazing, or nah?

12 draft picks and 50 free agents. Cable is a specialist in failure.
