I guess i am in the minority to not look passed the Lions and already look ahead to Atlanta. So here is a thread for those wanting to discuss the game we are actually in this weekend...I have not seen to much of the Lions this year. Zach Zenner looks legit in a usually non existant run game. Stafford is also good although I think if he is pressured he will throw up a pick or two. Not familiar with much of their defence besides Ansah and Slay who appear legit. Can our o line match up well vs their defence? Is Stafford gonna put up big numbers vs the defence? Detroit has not won a playoff game since 1992...hoping it does not happen this weekend.

Hope the cold and rain messes w stafford. He has a busted up finger. He will wear some sort of glove. They have real weapons. Tate and jones as bgi play guys. Boldin near the red zone and ebron. They have gone to a more spread it out short throw game, away from the old chuck it deep to metatron

If the over confidence of this forum is how the Seahawks take Detroit then we will get blown out 38 to 9 or some thing like that, Seahawks have to play the game like it's a Super Bowl every week from here on out and leave nothing on the table.

Looking towards Atlanta means squat at this point, unless they plan of being in the stands.

If we come out Focused and take the hand cuffs off the offense I think it will be a good game and we will win.

Strangely enough, that short throw game used to be a bit of an achilles heel for us, while the deep ball seldom worked. Now, who knows?

Without ETIII we're more vulnerable deep, and if we back our corners off a bit to sort of help him out in the 3 Deep scheme, it opens the short passing game up even more. At least with Bennett coming into his own, and the rest of the D-line stepping up more, perhaps we can get enough pressure on Stafford to force some bad throws and turnovers.

Bingo. The key to our post season starts and ends with mike bennett, cliff avril and frank clark. A consistant pass rush is a great deodorant

I think the defense at home will be too much for Detroit to handle. Weather, noise, busted finger, fired up LBs (linebackers and legion of boomers). Don't see them scoring a lot of points, even if ZZ is at the "Top" of his game. (Get it?)

Captain obvious here, but would love to see the offense get back into some sort of rhythm. Suck it up, O line, give Russ some time, get some push, open some holes so the RBs have some positive runs so that the offense is not just:

1st down : Rawls stuffed at the line
2nd down: bubble screen to Baldwin for 2 yards
3rd down: sack or incomplete because Russ had 1 second to throw

I think the Hawks get it done on Saturday and THEN we can talk about Atlanta...

Just because some people are confident we will win, doesn't mean we are looking past Detroit. It's the playoffs, the Hawks won't be looking past anyone. Fans overconfidence has zero impact on the game. To each his/her own, but assuming the worst is just as bad. We all look at it our own way. Seems these days there's more negative outlook and people telling others they are crazy being so confident etc. There are PLENTY of player that the Lions should be worried about as well. 9 straight home playoff wins (most in NFL history) and it's about to be 10. Should be a heck of the game, but not everyone is doom and gloom

3 most important Seahawk players this postseason.

Seahawks will live and die off of their production.

Zenner has been very impressive this year. He has great instincts and really cuts quickly and has a knack for making guys miss. Let's hope we make it a priority in stopping the run while maintaining pressure both inside and outside on Stafford.

On a random note, anyone think Megatron maybe regrets not playing 1 more year and being in the playoffs?

Couple stats I heard on Brock and Salk on the ride in during their good news segment.

-Detroit has given up something crazy like 72% completion percentage this year.

-Their D line is in the lower 20's of sacks in the league

-they are 1-3 down the stretch, and haven't beaten a playoff team this year.

This is our 14th home playoff game in the 40 year history of the hawks.

I agree. ZZ will get more yards than any of our RBs.

Is it possible they are in the playoffs because he retired? Hard to imagine, but maybe it's more of a team effort now rather than sit back and watch Calvin?

Very good theory. The more you promote one aspect of the game all by itself, the quicker the downfall. A well rounded team effort works wonders in the Salary Cap era.

Clayton says that theory is nuts, any team would be better with CJ.

I don't know.

Say it like it truly is. This site has been over run by negative whine asses. All the bitching and moaning has driven all good conversation away. If you don't believe me, go back and start reading. All it is, is sarcastic crap about how this team and it's coaches suck. The only positive stuff to read is when people complain that they are tired of the complaining.

Seattle should win.

But this is Hawks Version 2016, so a lot of fans are rightfully apprehensive.

Just win, baby. Ugly or not, just move us to the next game... :180670: :180670: :180670:
