The flag was thrown before the run, so I don't seen it as some mechanism to bring a great play back.
It was not a great play by KPL but was far from the reason.
In fact, I don't think the safety was either. If they get that ball kicked, very likely the Falcons get it at the 40 and go in for a TD. That saved 2 pts likely.
What screwed us was the fact that on every play our OL was letting guys through.
We could hide those deficiencies by playing some of the bad teams and just letting the times the good defenses beat us seem like outliers. But with the good teams in the playoffs, we were done before the coin flip.
This was a team that tried to go cheap in an important area and it really hurt us.
