  • Welcome back for the waiver claims and other transactions announcements .....

............. followed by a change of Alex Collins plans ..........

............. by the way, I'm envious of your weekend family get away. I am hunkered down inside my house with a hospital/military grade Austin air purifier scrubbing our interior air clean. I don't recall a previous wildfire season with smoke pollution as bad or as persistent as what we are going thru this year in South West Oregon. The air quality index rating outside my window has deteriorated to hazardous.

  • I believe the team has added back DT- Garrison Smith to the PS.
Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

  • That sure sucks, hope you and yours are safe.

Thanks for making all the posts with the latest and posting all the roster moves. There are just a few minor issues as it appears the team waived OT- Tyrus Thompson as injured and he has reverted to IR.

Everything is updated to my best belief.

  • We are fine because we are prepared. Keeping things festive and up beat. Checking on neighborhood seniors. Still got some boy scout left in me.

Missed posting the Garrison tweet in this thread .... but you spotted the omission. Good eye ... good eye.

That Sheldon Richardson transaction did a number on the Seahawk cap space. OTC has it listed at $3,120,399 tonight.

Not a big deal, they have done a lot with less in the past, we have a DT left or maybe they will just use Bennett and Clark as part of the rotation and go for speed and not a clog against the run, Packers don't count on the run that much history has shown so we may revamp again next week to make Hoyer beat us in the air.

Thanks for keeping up with the roster. Much appreciated.

I have issues today as far as smoke. Kids started a fire up on the hill and it is all over our valley. Oregon fires kinda smoked up the place a little, then Washington and Canada fires did. Then Montana, and now kids not to be outdone...have done it to us ending a decent weekend with dark skies. So much for getting work done today...

  • When we see those close to us having serious problems it quickly brings in to focus how much our football fanaticism is a trivial pursuit compared to serious reality. It also brings into focus how transitory life is and how the real things like health family and friends are the best of all things.

These serious weather related events are becoming the new reality and preparing for them so they can be taken in stride (or at least with equanimity) is important and more than ever essential.

    Fortunately all these things pass.
Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

Of course he'd need to clear waivers first.

Akeem King and Gabriel Holmes Seattle's two new practice squad guys. Only changes to roster.

King is certainly an interesting prospect and one of the prototypical desired size. He has very good recovery speed, & ball sense, but will need to learn to jam better at the LOS. Looks like a perfect developmental guy for our system.

  • Jammerhawk is on top of it.

Looks like Indianapolis Colts Vice President of Player Personnel Ed Dodds has once again signed Cyril Grayson Jr.

Garrison Smith is added to beef up the interior of the defensive line just in time for the Titans challenge.

While David Bass loses his spot after losing containment last Sunday. Fifth year object lesson: be disciplined with assignments and responsibilities or be gone.

  • Here's a pre-draft article on Joseph Jones (He's fast)

Tyvis Powell is a big and fast S as well and clearly a player the team wanted to try to keep but lost on waivers as they massaged the roster for the end of last season after Lockette got hurt Powell was waived for the addition of Devin Hester. I liked Powell addition as a UDFA last year as he was a well regarded Ohio S U player.

    See attached Powell's wiki

  • Nice to see Powell back on the PS.

I'm surprised the Hawks have not offered a PS spot to Q. Jefferson, who got cut recently. Kenny Lawler hasn't stuck on the PS either, but 5th or 6th receivers are a dime a dozen in the NFL so not a big deal. The Hawks must like David Moore, who has not been cut from the PS so far. Look for Moore to be promoted to the 53 man roster if a receiver goes down for the year.

  • Moore looked like a solid candidate to compete for a roster spot with his limited pre-season touches, but the numbers worked against him. Nice size, good quicks, good hands, still pretty raw in terms of the route tree, he's a perfect developmental player with a high potential for an upside.

Was suprised by the waiver of FS- Tyvis Powell who I thought was highly thought of by the team.

There should be 2 53 man roster moves with the IR designation of Thorpe and his replacement. and one PS move upcoming.

  • Here's a draft profile for DE- Branden Jackson

Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

Was suprised by the waiver of FS- Tyvis Powell who I thought was highly thought of by the team.

There should be 2 53 man roster moves with the IR designation of Thorpe and his replacement. and one PS move upcoming.

With regards to CB- Neiko Thorpe, his injury was to an ankle in the prior game.

Last Sunday, special teams/linebacker Dewey McDonald suffered a knee injury on the kickoff. It was feared to be an ACL. But, I have not run across an update on McDonald.

Linebacker and special teams standout Dewey McDonald, who exited the game after going down with a knee injury on the opening kickoff, has an injury to his ACL. "I don’t have the last word of it, but he does have an ACL injury,” Carroll said. "To the extent of it, I don’t know, but it is serious.” Carroll went on to add that McDonald injured his knee a couple years ago and clarified that this most recent setback is to McDonald’s opposite knee. http://www.seahawks.com/news/2017/09/25/injury-updates-pete-carrolls-week-4-monday-press-conference

Below are a couple of possibilities. Guess it will be tomorrow before we hear something definitive.

  • You're right it was McDonald not Thorpe that injured his ACL. McDonald is the candidate for IR not Thorpe.

Curious addition, if Braman is the replacement for McDonald. He's a good ST player.
