Grayson, who was measured at 5-foot-9, 178 pounds, worked out as a receiver at LSU’s pro day and displayed hands and route-running ability that showed he is more than just a speedster. As a senior at Rummel, Grayson had 28 receptions for 731 yards and eight touchdowns. According to results posted on LSU’s website, Grayson was clocked at 4.33 seconds in the 40-yard dash, posted a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump, and a 34.5-inch vertical leap.

Can he still catch and hold onto the ball?

Maybe give him a try at punt and kick returner, and see how he does. He looks like a smooth runner with quick acceleration.

Love how this front office leaves no stone unturned.

Yes! Our new starting left tackle!
I thought he could be our backup QB..We wouldn't see a drop in height and gain speed for the RO

I am not sure why people have to turn everything into bashing Bevell, Cable or our O-line approach so going to ignore that and stick to the subject at hand

Kids is a track athlete - Miami turned several of those into Football players for example Santana Moss

His body doesn't have the wear and tear and the fact that he stuck with Track and didn't end up walking onto the team may have to do with scholarships and it may be because of the inept offensive minds they had at LSU for years

Point being - kid can run and could turn out to be an absolute worthless player OR could turn out into a hidden gem that turns into a great player. It is intriguing, definitely worthy of a spot at this time especially since they saw him work out

Not going to give the FO the "we are the best because we won't leave any stone unturned" - we probably signed him against others based on reading between the lines in the article. What sold him is more likely the organization and the FO - and for that we are among the best and it is thanks to PC and JS

Good read

"•Seattle offered him a standard three-year rookie deal, Grayson said, with no guaranteed money. His newly hired agent called around to a few other teams. “They said they were going to offer the same thing,” Grayson said. “The Seahawks had the best opportunity for me to compete for a job. They showed a lot of love and it felt like home.” At 7:06 p.m. Friday, Grayson signed the deal, announcing it in a teleconference with his sister and parents."

Might as well bring him in and have a looksee. Hey, if the Vikings can kick the tires on Brock Lesnar, we can certainly see what this burner has to offer.

Cool, another midget receiver. Probably here for kick off and punt return duties though.

Thanks for posting hightlights :2thumbs: Grayson looks like he has some good movement skills. There were a number of Jet Sweeps. Looks to have some hesitate and go quickness. A touch of patience he blends with explosiveness and speed. He looks to be more than just a track guy. They could find a real match up dynamo with Grayson. I'm looking forward to his first Seahawk training camp.

For perspective though, keep in mind that is HS tape.

He'll be lucky to even make the practice squad rotation for a couple weeks. Then again he hasn't played football since high school and that's just what the Hawks are looking for these days.

I love his athleticism though.

It never changes people poo pooing on the guy this team needs more speed. Maybe he can be a Percy Harvin type. Good luck Cyril and go hawks.

I feel like the Seahawks have one feel good, PR-driven signing per off-season.

Wasn't last year the tiny middle-aged war veteran long snapper and the year before that the queen for a day was some guy they signed and then cut to give health care to or something?

Maybe this isn't as extreme as those guys, but if you want a rocket fast little guy as an UDFA there's a bunch of them who have actually played football beyond high school.

Small -n- fast so likely prone to injuries but might give us some decent games.

Roll the dice!

FWIW. He made the mistake of accepting a track scholarship early. Since he had an existing scholarship in a minor sport, he was not allowed to pursue a major sport scholarship until his junior year. By the time he was a junior, LSU wasn't interested in offering him a scholarship. Rather than changing institutions, he decided to finish out his time at LSU and take a shot as a UDFA.

Since he is a 5th year senior who didn't play football in college, he is allowed to sign prior to the draft.

Thank you for that explanation.

You think he is a decent prospect?
