Ok, 3 days from the draft. I thought it would be cool to see some 1st Round predictions.
WHO will the Hawks take at #26. Or, will they trade out of that pick?

My Prediction: Hawks select KEVIN KING - WASHINGTON

Kevin king I could live with.. wanted Sydney Jones, maybe pick him up undrafted? Our recent drafts have been a toss up with 1st rounders I think we go o line here by need

I think they trade out. However, if they stay put I think it's going to be a guard projected to go in Rd 2.

If King, Lattimore, Conley or Humphrey are there at 26, we get one of them. White from LSU is also a borderline bottom of 1st top of 2nd projection, so wouldn't surprise me if we draft him either. He fits the Hawk CB mold.

If not, I see us trading down once again.

Hoping they go Oline:
Ryan Ramczyk
Garrett Bolles
Forest Lamp
Cam Robinson
The Broncos, Dolphins and NY Giants will probably take a couple off the board first

Good thing they go BPA rather than nailing themselves into one position group that the fans are worried about.

Obi Mellifluous-whatever is my pick.

I love King at 26. So that probably means we go a completely different direction. I think I've hated every first pick we've ever selected except Okung.

Alternatives in order of preference

2011: Wanted Muhammad Wilkerson or Jabaal Sheard
2012: Wanted Fletcher Cox or Shea McClellin
2013: Wanted Sio Moore, Arthur Brown or Eddie Lacy
2014: Wanted Joel Bitonio, Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson or Jarvis Landry
2015: Wanted Frank Clark (other options all taken just ahead of us)
2016: Wanted Shon Coleman, Javon Hargrave or Jarran Reed

Earl wasn't our first pick in that draft, Okung was.

I'd love the best offensive tackle prospect available. Ryan Ramcyzk would be great but Garret Boles has more or the character risk that our staff seems to value. Also a big target WR... possibly Mike Williams from Clemson would be great but If we keep the pick and use it for a WR I'd bet they opt for another very small quick wr like John Ross or Curtis Samuel. Pete and JS seem to have a difficult time passing on those guys.
I could also see them going with Ahkillo Witherspoon earlier than expected. He is projected late in the second but has good speed for a 6'3" CB and most importantly to our staff long 33" arms. The book on him says that he is very intelligent but there are concerns with his "coach ability" and his "foot ball character" but not his off field character. I'm not even sure what that last part means but it sounds like legion of Boom material to me if not an Richard Sherman understudy.

I think Bolles, King, Ramczyk, Lamp & likely Melinfonwu will all be gone by pick #26. After careful consideration I'd like to see them draft (in order) CB-Chidobe Awuzie --or-- CB-Adoree Jackson --or-- trade down a few spots & still maybe be able to pick up either one. In that case, I'd think either DE-Tarrell Basham or DE-Jordan Willis in round 2, or if that pick is used for a different position (S, CB, OLB) then DE-Demarcus Walker with #90, (a pass rusher is needed) -- and then OL with #102. Pick #106 could go a lot of ways, including as a trade piece to move up or down. JS/PC are pretty good at draft positioning & seem to have a good handle on where players will go & that's a big part of their overall draft strategy. I can't wait for Thursday to get here.

oh my bad, I didn't read your response correctly, as they were both first rounders that year.

I want Obi Melifonwu or Adoree Jackson but I think we will trade down and use the spare pick to trade up in the second round.
