And we add another RB. I did like Mike Davis when he was coming out of college though.

53 man roster full of running backs and safeties :0190l:
We'll see what happens when we do cut down to 53. But the 90 going into camp is looking like some epic battles at RB, WR, and DB. Might get interesting.

He looked really good in the first pre-season game last year, but followed that up with two fumbles and not much else.

In his rookie year he had the lowest YPA for a qualifying player since the merger (1.7 I think), and then followed that up last year by averaging 2.6 YPC across 20 carries before getting sent back to the bench.

I'm guessing the Hawks had a decent grade on him coming out so they're just checking him out.

That said, his addition takes the numbers at RB to 12 and at FB to 3. There is going to be a tremendous battle for the roster spots before the end of the pre-season.

Seattle had visits with him in 2015 (coming to find this is almost meaningless in regards to who we do or do not draft) and I thought we were going to draft him. Good receiving RB, will be interesting to see how he does in the offseason and preseason.

Seems we have a lot of camp bodies at rb...

Considering Rawls and Prosise couldn't stay healthy last year.. wouldn't mind having the extra depth to get us through camp and preseason with a healthy stable of RB's for a change.

He was one of the Hawks targets in 2015 who got taken earlier than expected. Another in the Spencer Ware mold of tough runner with good hands. When I saw the 9ers waived him I thought the Hawks might show some interest. Nothing like adding to the pile.

Well given the mantra of being more physical and with all our DB's being hitters and a more Physical RB and WR group maybe they are hedging on some attrition on the days they can actually hit each other.

And if you have guys with injury histories, it's also good to have a stable of off-the-street FAs you can call on if need be.

Davis strikes me as the type of guy who's not going to make the team and not going to get picked up by anyone else, but it's good to know where he's at and for him to know the playbook a little bit if you need to pull him off his couch during the season in a pinch.

Schneider does that a lot. It seems that half the time, when we need a mid-season pickup to cover an injury, say, it is someone who was in camp with us, or has otherwise been with the team before. It's probably pretty common around the league. The less re-orientation someone would need the better.

I doubt the Seahawks will enter TC with 12 rbs on the roster. I believe a few will be released before training camp starts. It think they will go with 7-8 to start the camp.

I don't know that I'd write this one off. Davis has a good overall game and is the type of runner that fits the zbs really well. He accelerates n/s quickly and then runs behind his pads with intent.

Lacy, Rawls, and Prosise are wildcards to be healthy still....

J.D. McKissic (187lbs) is a bit different than the rest of the running backs. He has some uniqueness.

I suspect him to be a mismatch seeking jet sweep / receiving specialist that can line up at multiple spots.

He played a little bit last year after we cut Michael and then re-lost Prosise and were still without Rawls mostly. Jittery and can help with returns, but he's a real longshot.

Seahawks Sign DE David Bass, Release Eight Players

The Seahawks made roster moves Tuesday, signing defensive end David Bass and releasing eight players: cornerback Perrish Cox, tight end Chris Briggs, center Ross Burbank, defensive tackle Rodney Coe, running back George Farmer, receiver Jamel Johnson, kicker John Lunsford and running back Terrence Magee.

So at least we lost a couple dbs and rbs.

Yeah, down to 9 backs now on the home page. Mckissic is still there, likely because he's a returner and because of broken legs.
