releasing eight players: cornerback Perrish Cox, tight end Chris Briggs, center Ross Burbank, defensive tackle Rodney Coe, running back George Farmer, receiver Jamel Johnson, kicker John Lunsford and running back Terrence Magee.

This is from the home page article with the Bass signing.

Perrish just perished from the Seahawks. He keeps coming back and getting cut...I think it may be the last time we see Perrish as a Seahawk...after all this he may not want to come back.

I had a feeling moves were coming as they have a buttload of guys at RB, DB, and DL. It's fairer to the players to get an opportunity elsewhere. Releasing them now affords them a chance to latch on to another team.

A handful here had high hopes for Farmer. But his sticking on the roster was unlikely as me stringing five H words together in this post. Wait, what?

Disappointed Magee and Farmer have gone as I felt we didn't have enough running backs.

A bit surprised about John Lunsford, although a white Canadian RB was always a long shot.

It's why one should never get in the way of the loons who are like wild eyed geriatrics taking their SS cheques to the casino. So many words dedicated to cuts.

So, we get 90 guys in camp, right? How's that stack up now?

I think I saw we were at 82 not including UDFAs. There will be more cuts and signings though, I'm sure.

Makes sense. We wouldn't have been over 90, I guess. Wonder what's in the works for summer?

The camp competition kicker is already cut? What the heck? I think Walsh should at least be getting some level of competition.

I'm sure they probably saw a little bit this past week and that was apparently enough.

At this point in his career, do you think an almost no name is going to put the fear of Zeus in him to just make damn field goals?

I feel like the roster churning is back to what is was when Pete and John first got here.

Even though we're currently stock full in RBs, it's a little disappointing to see Farmer go this early. I thought he had some promise. Maybe he'll land somewhere else.

And looks like Walsh is our guy for better or worse unless they sign a new rookie soon.

Disappointing and wholly expected. How many swan songs have to be written about practice squad guys?

He can't really handle pressure so better to cut the competition......

Its May. The roster churns all the way up till the final 53 is announced. Wouldn't be surprised to see some of these guys come back because of injuries sustained in training camp.

Farmer will probably be back 97 times for the next couple years, possibly even between being picked up by other teams. We tend to have a few of those.

I seem to remember people getting bent out of shape about the Perrish Cox signing. Like many over the years, just because someone is signed, doesn't mean they will be on the squad. :2thumbs:
