Is there some sort of constant monitoring program to ensure that he stays there? I'm not trying to stir the pot. I am a fan of the EL signing. I just wonder what is to stop him from cutting weight to earn the bonus then putting the weight back on?

Actually, I believe that the Seahawks and Eddy Lacey have a symbiosis gig going on here; Seahawks are giving him a $hot at rejuvenating his mojo as a Feature Back....And he needs incentive$ to do the right thing for his body & career?
I think that Rawls is hungry as hell, and is going to push for more carries...there's no question about Desire on his part, eh? :D

More good news to help with incentive....

"Lacy has also signed an endorsement deal with Beachbody Performance in an effort to lose weight."

Great news that he passed. He had a big incentive to make these cuts, and it is nice to see that he is putting in the work to make it happen. It bodes well for this season.

Do we know his final goal? I'm kind of assuming it's around 230-35 or so. Wasn't that his old playing weight, pre-injury?

I haven't seen an exact number tied to his contract, but I do remember hearing something about Pete saying he still wanted him to be in the 240's as a playing weight.

He was 231 coming out of college. Pete said "we want him big" and set his max playing weight at 245. Sounds like he is close to that now.
Glad to see he is setting himself up to succeed by taking this challenge seriously and putting in the work and following the program they setup for him.

I read somewhere that he has weigh-ins throughout the season built into his deal and 245 is what he has to stay under.

I read he still has five weigh-ins left. The next one will come after July, after a month long break. That one should tell us all we need to know. He seems pretty committed to this.

His next weigh-in specified by the one-year, prove-it contract he signed with the Seattle this spring is in August. He again has to be under 250 pounds then to earn $55,000 more,. That will be after a July that is the NFL’s month off prior to the start of training camps and then the season.

Lacy has 385,000 reasons to stay in shape. That’s how much cash the 2013 NFL offensive rookie of the year with the Green Bay Packers can earn in incentive bonuses. He has seven contractually mandated weigh-ins with the Seahawks, including in September, October, November and December during the 2017 regular season.

Those bonuses include an additional $1.3 million if he rushes for 1,200 yards. The weight bonuses are: $55,000 if Lacy weighed in at 255 pounds or less in May, $55,000 each if he was at 250 or below this month and in August, and $55,000 each if he weighs 245 pounds at the in-season weigh-ins..

That 245-pound mark is where Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he thinks Lacy can be at his best for Seattle, though the coach emphasizes he wants Lacy to be big and run big.

^^^^^^^^

Looks right to me. Below are some numbers and dates I ran across.

Workout/Weight Bonus: $385,000
$55,000 if 255 lbs in May
$55,000 if 250 lbs in June, August
$55,000 if 240 for Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec

I have not been able to verify the in season 240 number. I have a feeling that in the spirit of intent ........ a 245 number may likely be good enough.

A new weight challenge phase begins this Friday (6/12/17) .... when the team's annual 6 week vacation (before training camp) begins.

This is also the time of year when fans that love to fret, over things outside their control, can worry about players drinking and driving and staying out after midnight at unsavory night spots.
