Who is the most intriguing under the radar rookie for 2017?

Could it be Jeremy Liggins?

........ a former wild cat quarterback?

Or, could it be the Jeremy Liggins who was converted to a blocking tight end and also saw time as a power back specialist in heavy formations?

Or could it be Jeremy Liggins the offensive tackle?

Nope ....... my pick is Jeremy Liggins ...... the conversion project of new defensive line coach Clint Hurtt. Clint will invest his time along with the time and effort of others in teaching Jeremy the art of playing defensive tackle.

Photo to follow in a few weeks when the competition begins ............. i.e. training camp.

Is there an under the radar rookie you find intriguing?

I think mostly because of his non football background and cool way we beat people to his signing then Cyril Grayson would be my intriguing rookie pick.

He sounds like he should be British nobility which also endears me to him.

Good choice ....... Cyril Grayson is intriguing .....

Back at the Corner Bar, one scout noted that even though Grayson had zero college football experience, he was going to get a contract with somebody after the draft when teams scramble to sign top rookies who went undrafted.

As his fellow scouts continued the conversation, Dodds enjoyed his drink in silence. Cyril Grayson, who due to an odd rules quirk that Dodds had already uncovered was eligible to be signed immediately, was already on a flight to Seattle.
I'm really going to miss Ed Dobbs. He scouted and recommended a lot of intriguing rookies during his time with the Seahawks.

This is my hope too. I guessing practice squad is the best to hope for this year, but we'll see. Might make the roster just for fear of him being poached.

Jordan Roos, G. I think he will have big impact in the years to come.

Thinking this is solid. Have to figure we're keeping 9, possibly 10 OL.

Today's starting 5: (at least all should be locks)

Fant
Joeckel
Britt
Glowinski
Ifedi

Remaining:

Aboushi
Pocic
Odhiambo
Roos
Hunt
Myers
Senior

I have to think that Hunt is a possible cut. I think Pocic makes him expendable.

Seattle seems to love Odhiambo. After this season we'll know. Suspect he barely hangs onto the roster.

Roos seems to be fighting those last few players. Not sure Myers or Senior are guys that will show enough on the outside. With Pocic starting out competing at OT -- that would leave 4 guys capable of OT (Fant, Joeckel, Pocic and Ifedi). So not sure we'd have to keep 3rd string OTs on this roster.

Looks like Roos has a path to the active 53. The battle for the 9th or possibly 10th OL in the group should be good.

Zach Whitman posted a couple of intriguing numbers on Nick Usher.

Arm Length 34.25 inches and Wing Span 82.125 inches ..... can those numbers be accurate?

That's a great story about Dobbs and Grayson. You can't help but root for Grayson too. He appears hungry, lightning fast and from what I've read has shown surprisingly impressive hands and an uncanny natural ability on the field. A great sleeper candidate to make this team.

Usher seems like a solid guy. If he works really hard he has a chance. Looking forward to camp.

Most fans are directed to look for explosive play makers and focus on those rookies that were drafted. A blindness can emerge as a pervasive tendency to ignore or dismiss undrafted rookies becomes, once again, the numbing norm. Versatile players facilitate match up surprises and play call uncertainty for opponent defenses. They also provide backup protection to overcome injury losses. Algernon could become a valuable addition in that regard.

Algernon Brown is intriguing. Will he be a NFL running back or a full back or a H-back or a tight end?

Algernon Brown write up >>>>>>>>>>>> [urltargetblank]https://www.ganggreennation.com/2017/3/24/15057036/scouting-the-2017-nfl-draft-algernon-brown-byu[/urltargetblank]

P.S. Yesterday, I happened across a Field Gulls article that spoke of players, from last year, that remain unsigned. The situational full back pair of DT Will Tukuafu and FB Marcel Reece were included in that article. Recall the useful pairing of DT Will Tukuafu and FB Derrick Coleman in the previous year. Now consider a couple of undrafted rookies from this year's list ...... DT Jeremy Liggins, with his background on offense, and the intriguing Algernon Brown. Coincidence? Maybe and maybe not. The possibility reminds me of that often repeated Buddy Ryan observation. A repeat of that observation would really be something.

Let the competitive intrigue begin ...... Go Hawks!

Even though I seconded Roos, I can make the same case for Grayson.

Basically, he's a mirror for Lockett and Richardson. To me, Moore, Darboh, McEvoy and Kearse are all the same kind of prototype receiver. Probably only keep one or two at best. Grayson has a unique trait that allows him to stand out.

I am hoping it will be Justin Senior, if he excels, we could have find ourselves a real tackle.

Considering the way the coaches are talking up Shaq Griffin there may just be a legit position battle or two for RCB.

Am extremely curious to see Malik McDowell playing in the correct position and properly coached. He could be special and exceptional.

Lots of interesting rookie additions this season, really am interested in seeing what Delano Hill brings to the D.

Any rookie drafted after the first round is an under the radar qualifier, lots to choose from this season.
