Stats, here: http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/ ... aine-brock

IIRC, he had the rep of being a strong tackler and feisty dude.

The stats ESPN keeps on defensive backs are pointless. They don't give any indication of how good he is in coverage. I don't like PFF's subjective rating system, but at least they had Opposing Passer Rating (or something like that) and Yards Per Coverage Snap. Unfortunately those are not available anymore.

I don't disagree that ESPN's stats don't tell you much about coverage. Here's the best I got. F.O. is generally the best with designer stats: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/player ... aine-brock

Starting opposite Sherm? That way Lane can go back into the slot. I definitely wouldn't mind it.

We all know that Pete & John don't like the short, short armed CB's, and he seems like more of a slot type guy.

Makes me wonder if Lane's injury is worse than initially thought

Kicking tires, and rolling over every rock is what this FO does.

Is Brock better than the young depth the team has here now? If so let's have a look and then an informed decision can be made. Any addition that strengthens the team works for me.

There have been more than a few big Seahawks plays vs SF where Brock was left trailing. Also a long run by Lynch where Brock had an angle but opted fall in behind Lynch, to try and punch the ball out from behind - it was the most half hearted thing outside of Tracey Porter jogging out the end of Beast Quake that I can remember.

Pass here too.

The reality of having a look at this player is the FO is simply trying to see if they can improve the depth at CB and nothing more.

Seems like there will be options after cutdowns, we don't need to pick off the scrap pile for an older'ish CB that's small. Kelly Jennings anyone?

Thanks, I didn't know FO had player stats available to non-subscribers.

Interesting to see what he signed for, and does someone get cut/IR in the secondary?
