I found an article on pre-draft player evaluation of Tyrus Thompson. This was written in Feb 2015.

The concern is he's been bounced a lot since being drafted by the Vikings in 2015. Vikes don't have a solid OL so the fact he couldn't latch on there is quite concerning. Hope he does better with the Seahawks.

5 teams in 2 seasons? Did I read that right?

Please tell me this is just a "depth" signing & Branden Albert is still a consideration.

I wouldn't necessarily look down on the five teams in two years. Those fringe spots have so little security. Basically anything happens in the lineup and suddenly you're cut like a week after you sign, since the team has so little invested in you.

I'm sure they "had him ranked really high when he came out" and that "he's a tough competitor."

They signed an actual offensive lineman? A guy who has played the position? Were there not any defensive projects or former basketball players available??

I read this as Tyrus Thomas the basketball player at first.

Here is a pic from a couple of years ago. He supposedly has bulked up.

I would think they are exploring trades, which rarely happen, but it's worth trying to get something. Or, waiting for cuts from other teams, especially if it's a solid vet who was cut for cap reasons.

Signing an O-linemen to the O-line? I'm disappointed in our predictability. Surely there's a tennis phenom we could have converted. I hear Texas A&M has some great bass fishermen. Talk about versatility.

He is very flexible....?

Holding, facemask, and losing ground to a guy 50 pounds lighter than him...

What's there not to like!? :sarcasm_off:

And I thought Jockel was the only one...looks like the Jags have an eye for finding these guys and we have an open check book to sign them to our roster.

No wonder Cable wanted him. He plays just like a Hawks O-lineman already.
