Was just reading some of the latest Tweets out there on Twitter and I came across this (courtesy of Jared Stanger) ...

Pierre Desir is a guy who has caught my eye during the Preseason and this just confirms what I've been seeing. I predicted Desir would make the 53 Man roster and with the injury last night to Elliott, this would just appear to strengthen his case to make this team.

Impressed with Desir, but Thorpe is a better special teams player.......one of our best ST players in fact. But he did not have a very good game last night (Thorpe).

I wish we could Frankenstein these two together.

I guess I would rather have strong defensive play than special teams play, especially with additions in the linebacking group that have strengthened special teams.

Another "welcomed problem" to have. He has been a nice surprise to me, and if he indeed earned a spot as it appears, then congrats and welcome "Lucky Pierre". :2thumbs:

With Elliott going down (so sad for him) I think we'll be able to keep both Thorpe and Desir which will be nice depth with Griffin. However if it's only one or the other I think you have to keep Desir.

This is why I'm saying this guy's making this team. I mean, how can you let that go?

Desir is a nice story but played against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Thorpe isn't great but his game against the Raiders is being unfairly maligned. The refs blew two calls. With Shaq and Lane the Hawks won't need Thorpe to be a starter. The intriguing piece to the secondary is Shead. Does he come off the PUP at all this season?

This is a disappointment. The line on him is that he is very good at being in the right place. But, the knock on him was with his finish. With the big emphasis on up grading turn overs, that might have been a contributing factor to his release. We don't have the daily access to the VMAC. And, we are not privy to coaches and player tape. So we remain vague on what precipitated his release. Still, Desir's release is a surprise and disappointment for many fans.

Good hunting Pierre Desir. Keep grinding.

Surprised. I hope he lands on a team and gets a shot.
