Walter Jones has started this in honor of his longtime friend Cortez Kennedy. I think this is a great thing to do in his honor and it just may bring families and friends a little closer.

Awesome! In this age of social media, where most people post the "filtered" version of themselves, it's hard to get a pulse on what's really going on with our loved ones outside of our own households. I know I'm guilty of it.

Saw this on NFLN yesterday, and it kicks off today. Thank you for posting this.

Part of it trying to avoid that sudden passing of someone who was feeling poorly but didn't do anything about it, or someone battling depression and contacting them before they make a poor choice about their future.

It was a shock when Tez passed, and I think there was something about him not feeling well prior to it. His death might have been prevented, but that's not for sure. Anyway, here's Walt:

"When the passing of 'Tez happened, you get a call from a lot of people, but then you’ll get that one call from someone that’s just asking you how you’re doing, and sometimes that can help you get through it,” Jones said on NFL Network.

"So for me that’s why I wanted to start this, to think about those players that weren’t the Hall of Famers, the All-Pros, but those guys that went to battle with you, that you made friends with. Everybody on the team from the first man to the 53rd man, that guy was a part of the team, so you don’t want to forget those guys.”
