  • I thought he looked really bad out there today. He didn't even complain when he got interfered with in the endzone. Plus the drops. Show a little passion. Use the money we would give him and give it to Sheldon Richardson, he at least gave some effort today.

  • He played terrible. I don't think he even wants to be in Seattle. As a lot of us still are upset on the SB goal line call, he is still upset at being traded. He will go somewhere else next year and will have an incredible season. We don't use him as we should and how he wants to be used, therefore, he never gives 100% to this team. I really think our offense would be better without him. Trade him for some oline help and move on.

True. Maybe he's had some sort of physical relapse on his patellar tendon or other health issue?

  • Was a bad day for Jimmy, sure. But it has happened before. The mugging in the end zone I don't put on him. He's probably used to not getting a lot of PI calls. But he had a couple of drops that I would call unlike him.

I suspect he'll bounce back. I just hope he doesn't have another bad day in a really important game. And sorry, but one game on the road is not the end of the world.

  • he did look like he was going thru the motions today. I will say they need to trade him. not because of this bad game but because they clearly need oline play more than him. if you cant have time to throw him the ball or get into scoring positions to use his skill set than why even have him anyway. no good having a Ferrari if you cant drive it.

I disagree. Qb has no time to reach him. How many TDs did Baldwin, P-Rich or any of them have? Its the O-Line. Schneider made a terriible trade.

  • Green Bay switched it's defense to the "nitro" package this year. They ran it a lot yesterday.. They replaced a ILB with Safety Morgan Burnett, who is excellent at covering TE's. Gone are the days of fast tight ends having field days against the likes of cement footed AJ Hawk...

  • He dropped one pass... Have you guys ever tried playing sports at a high level? obviously not.

Here's the greatest receiver of all time.

The whole offense looked terrible and you want to blame a guy who had one drop?

He didn't asked to be traded to an offense who couldn't protect the QB and throw the ball... had he still been in NO he'd be catching 70 passes a year for 1200 yards and 12 TDs still.

    Remember this? Same player.

He also caught a TD versus the Seahawks in Seattle during a playoff divisional game.

Graham is a monster... if you have any issues with his output, then hold the coaches accountable because we know what Jimmy Graham we got when we traded for him. (TOP 10 WR in the league)....not top 10 blocking TE.

  • There is no doubt Jimmy has not lived up to the hype. When he came here, he was a top 10 non-QB offensive player. I don't even think he is top 40 now. It's hard to tell if Jimmy has lost a step or he simply thrived in the Saints offense. I think we move on from him soon.

Randy Moss had a combined 1500 yards and 11 TDs in 2 seasons with the Raiders. Most people thought he had lost a step, but he was just in an inept offense..

The following year he had 1500 yards and 23 TDs with the Patriots.

I can promise you that if Graham returned to the Saints, or went to a top offense like the Falcons, Saints, Pats, or Packers, he'd return to 10+ TDs without issue.

I remember his first game as a Seahawk he ran a speed out for a TD vs the Rams.. i thought we were going to see a lot more of those WR concept routes... unfortunately we don't.

  • Found a little tidbit on the Graham contract situation.

    Jimmy Graham TE / Seahawks

Graham set franchise records for a tight end with 65 receptions for 923 yards in a comeback 2016 season. In 2015, his first in Seattle, Graham tore the tore the patellar tendon in his right knee. Placing a franchise tag on Graham in 2018 is remote, and here's why: the 120 percent of the prior year's salary rules suggest that the signing bonus proration from Graham's deal with the Saints, which made him the NFL's first and only $10 million per year tight end, is included the calculations. With the bonus proration factored in, Graham's tag number should be $15.58 million. Fortunately for Seattle, the tight end market has been stagnant with Graham's deal still leading the way. A 31-year-old Graham may have a hard time getting the same money in 2018 he did at 27 without bettering the franchise marks he set last season during his contract year.

  • Graham is rightfully frustrated.

He is a world-class talent that has never been utilized right with our team.

Bevell is to blame, Pete then shares some of that blame, and so too does RW who misses a lot of open lanes - far too many for a QB with his experience. RW seems to be regressing. The recent USA Today article suggests that as well.

  • Yes, we all hope to draft a taller QB next year that can outrun a camel and never miss a receiver, but this thread is about Graham.

  • Well yesterday it only got worse.

1 catch for 1 yards vs the niners.

Sorry but I bought into the Jimmy hype, and how he dropped weight, was leaner, quicker, and faster and was poised to have a great season after full recovery.

Not what I am seeing at all. I'm looking at a player that looks like he has checked out. Not going to pull your own weight? Then get him the hell out of here!

  • If he's here by Wednesday I believe it is a mistake. Take what you can get. If you can't get a third rounder, you consider holding onto him for the comp pick, but that is going to be one tall malcontent. Offense flows better with Luke in. Jimmy is going to be one of the best pass catching TE's all-time, but doesn't fit in with Russell, and his pussified attitude doesn't fit in with this team.

  • I'm to the point with Graham that if we can get a quality O-lineman and someone to take on his 10M salary............trade him.

Just as Bruce Irvin and Bennett said when we traded for him, he's a fake tough guy and soft. So teams make sure to punch him in his mouth a couple times in the first quarter to make him quit. That's why for the rest of the game he stops running if he thinks the ball isn't coming to him, which is 90% of the time now.

So he's obviously disengaged from what we're trying to do. Not all his fault, but bad fit and I'm ready to move on if we can get a good veteran lineman.

  • Yeah pretty unimpressed with him so far. Not sure its Jimmy. Not sure its Bevell. Not sure its defensive scheme. But something is totally not working. Either make it work or move him. It's annoying that we say we can't afford OL help but are paying a TE 10 million to miss blocks and drop passes.

  • He has 4 catches for 9 yards this year. You can complain about him being soft, there's absolutely no reason for those numbers to be so dreadful. When he went out briefly yesterday, TE's suddenly became used in the passing game. Pro bowl TEs shouldn't be catching passes behind the LOS. I want to drop kick my TV watching McEvoy get passes over the middle while Jimmy is releasing late at the line after chip blocking. He isn't a typical TE, stop forcing him to be a traditional blocking TE.

  • I obviously don't doubt Jimmy's abilitt in the right scheme that makes him more like a WR, but he's a waste of 10m in Seattle. Let's spend that money elsewhere next year or trade him sooner rather than later if there's something viable.

But this is the problem, in this offense he has to block, and he either doesn't, or gets destroyed trying.

Dude still has talent, and therefore value................so if we're still going to be the pound the rock ball control offense Pete wants us to be, why are we paying a guy 10M a year to block 80% of the time, who CAN'T block?

Makes no sense. Trade him for someone who can help us more within the confines of this scheme.
