  • If a picture is worth a 1000 words.

    Image

We will win plenty of games.
I still predict 12-4 or 11-5 but we won't do anything in the playoffs if we don't fix this.

It's a horse that's been beat to death around here but this picture graphically depicts just how bad things are.

    IMO it's scary bad.
    YMMV

Ouch.... well in a super bowl or bust type year..... we may have just bust out. This team cannot win on the road in the playoffs.... and we just gave away HFA to GB.

  • 4 guys not blocking 3. That's great.

And what the heck is Rees doing there? It almost looks like he's intending the block the DT, not the DE and gets surprised he had to block the DE. Surely he didn't expect Graham to block him, did he?

Indeed. Pete's bullcrap is getting old with everyone - players included.

Has been for a while now.

    Winning solves everything, though.

Question is if Pete can convince everyone he's capable of winning big anymore.

Are they going to trade him, or just throw a bunch of money at a receiving tight end who can't block?

  • I"m certainly no expert on blocking or anything about blocking, but, just how is a blocker suppose to block if he's going backwards and has no leverage to setup the block of the said would be rusher? They just look so unbalanced, that a small child could just tip them over.

If he isn't going to block when its required due to our poor OL play, then the coaching staff should put a TE in who will IMO. Hate to see a talent like him on the sideline but you got to protect the QB.

  • Comes down to zone blocking vs man blocking with adjustments. From what I understand of Cables scheme, the linemen have lanes they are responsible for. 3 years now with so far no improvement and arguably regression. How about we change a coaching philosophy that is clearly not working.

We don't have the best personnel, and Bevells ludicrous long developing plays with no hot routes dink and dunk passing, around the edge rushing etc is putting twice the pressure on the line.

3 issues we have with protection:
    1.)poor blocking scheme
    2.)Zero compensation with offensive strategy
    3.)sub par personnel

The FO could fix 1 & 2 if it had the balls, but we are limited on 3 due to cap and lack of quality lineman available. Our philosophy of defense first and keep the core players in O & D together is a good one, but you then have to make the adjustments for a sub par line.

Cable and Bev have shown they refuse to do this.

Let them go, can't really get worse playcalls or OL play than we have now.

  • When we re-signed Wilson I was of the mind that we paid too much, but with this type of o-line we consistently put out there I think we may be paying him too little. He isn't going to have a long career when the Seahawks put that garbage in front of him.

I get physically ill when I watch that kind of "offensive" performance. There has to be a serious conversation today in the clubhouse. Pete and John need to have a "man to man" talk with every player there.

Completely agree, one thing I never understood is why we don't go for 5 yd routes or quick slants. We either throw it behind the line in bubble screens or wait for a long play. Drives you insane.

Short passes would help this offense immensely in forcing the defense to be honest and back off. RIght now there stacking the box with 8/9 and are challenging us to do something yet Bevell calls the same long routes.

    So true.

The Hawks are regressing and so is Wilson under this horrible offense.

RW is going to get hurt bad. He's already mentally fractured and I don't blame him one bit. He's not a big guy and he's getting hammered far too often nearly each and every game going back the last couple seasons and now this one.

    Does it matter?
What did Pete say he was going to do after last years "we went too young" reckoning? It got us nowhere.

I will say he looked a bit more miffed after his presser than I remember seeing him before.

Tom Brady would personally fire his Oline if they did that

I know Russ isn't that kind of guy to go off on his guys, but maybe he needs to

  • This is what Pete said during his presser todays regarding the oline:

"That we got better during the game, that we protected much better as the game went on. Right out of the chutes we just missed a couple opportunities to do things and made a couple of mistakes, errors that we had. And also I give it to [Mike] Daniels. He played a heck of a football game and he gave us some problems. We didn't deal with him as well as we thought we would."

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Russell Wilson faced pressure on 44 percent (14 of 32) of his dropbacks Sunday. His career average from 2012-16 was 37 percent, highest in the NFL.

    Pete........what tape did you watch??????

Lynch is laughing his ass off at all this i bet. This horseshit offense probably sucked the life out of him.

This has been happening for years with different players. How is that possible? Obviously it is not the FO's intent but if the goal was to form the worst O-line possible this is what it would look like. It is one thing for a future hall of famer (I remember Walter use to do this on the opposite side) to embarrass one linemen sometimes but for subpar no names to embarrass all of our linemen ever play is hard to accept. These guys look like 16 year old highschoolers trying to block professionals.

Can we try to bring Jahri Evans back for a try out? Nope, he plays for the Packers.

We will win plenty of games.
I still predict 12-4 or 11-5 but we won't do anything in the playoffs if we don't fix this.

It's horse that's been beat to death around here but this picture graphically depicts just how bad things are.

    IMO it's scary bad.
    YMMV

Well now, they say the line is better this year, right? I suspect they are right
    .

LAST year, we could hardly see Russ under the opposing D-line. This year, not only are there only 4 linemen watching him get creamed, but at least he has a chance to throw it away off his back foot BEFORE getting creamed.

  • Did we make a mistake to add another Stud on an already strong Defense (Richardson), where we could have used this capital to add a Joe Thomas from the Brown? Or maybe even 2 really good O-Linemen at an affordable price? Can we still trade for a good O-Lineman ...
At this time, I just don't believe that the answer is on our current roster.
Can a new O-Line coach make so much difference? isn't the talent we have an important component is this massive problem?
Pete and John S. MUST be embarrassed.

    This actually pisses me off.
Hell I could stand up longer against those rushers.

Edit: Who the hell is the strength training coach here? Looks like they need a new one.
