We Will At Least Win Our Next 5 Games

  • This is the NFL, it's all about the schedule. Before the season started, I think most people envisioned a 1-2 start. We will likely be a favorite in every game the rest of the season with an exception to the Cowboys game on the road and possibly the Cardinals game in Arizona. We should still finish with at least 11 wins.

We will beat the Colts next week. They're arguably the worst team in the league without Luck.

We will beat the Rams on the road. I'm not buying their fast start, they've played three bottom 10 teams.

We will beat the Giants on the road. This one won't be easy, but the different will be RW's legs. Eli can't quite move like our QB.

We will beat the Texans at home. Watson looks impressive, but a rookie QB isn't coming into the CLink and beating us.

We will beat the Redskins at home. I think we should beat them easily, they are a finesse passing team.

If we can get past Atlanta, it would not shock me if we can pull off 10 in a row. The schedule really softens up.

This league is all about the schedule.

  • I think 3-2 a lot more realistic. I really don't think we beat the rams.

    LOL.

No, it's about talent and coaching and a bit of luck.

The Seahawks are in short supply of all three these days...

  • It's the NFL, it is all about the schedule. Most people on here probably didn't think the Bears were capable of beating the Steelers. Or what about the Bills beating the Broncos? I'm not saying we are a SB contender, I'm just saying the schedule is very favorable right now.

  • With all due respect this is a lot of conjecture. I know there are a lot of Andrew Luck stans out there but I don't think the Colts are that bad. We beat them, but Jacoby Brissett put on a show today

Deshaun Watson is special and quite frankly, I'm more worried about the Texans defense on a good day

Underestimating the Rams is foolish. They pass the eye test, stop using Jeff Fisher's team as a reference...as they've always been talented and gave us more trouble with less

The Giants are 0-3 but they could easily have one or two great games, and it could come against us. OBJ is special.

    So...yah

Realistically I think we go 3-2 with both losses on the road.

  • It's great to be positive, but guaranteeing a win from this squad seems to be a bit pre mature at the moment.

Here's to hoping your prediction comes true!

    2-3 seems more likely.
    [Win] Colts
[Loss] Rams on road - Highly questionable given our OLine and past struggles against their DLine.
[Loss] Giants on road - I am not sure about road games anymore with this O Line.
[Win] Redskins at home - they win since they are home
[Loss] Atlanta - I dont see them beating ATL

  • Good lord there are delusional people on this board.

No chance to beat Rams (we have lost last 3 road games vs them) or Giants. We might not even beat the Colts, who have a mobile QB. Houston will be tough as well.

We are paying the price for not doing enough on the line.

  • I am not panicking - it was a road game, east coast 100 degree weather. We have to get an offensive rhythm going. not sure about next five, but I think we go 6-0 in the division and that puts us in the driver's seat for a bye. if not, then we have to try and do it the hard way.

If the front office panics, we do something dumb and forfeit the season. Draft position is not worth it.

  • I guess we agree to disagree. Lets revisit in 5 weeks. 4-1 at worst.

FWIW, Vegas had us losing to GB and the Titans. We were underdogs in both. We won't be underdogs for a long time. Possibly a slight underdog to the Falcons and at the Cardinals, but probably close to a pick em. We will be an underdog at Dallas.

Can you guys at least agree with me that we will be favorites in our next five games?

Don't take it personnel, there are a lot of people on this board that won't be happy unless they throw the baby out with the bath water. I happen to think we have a very good chance to go on a nice run. Most definitely the Rams are going down.

I'm sorry but I'm not following your logic here. This makes post absolutely no sense. You say "the schedule looks very favorable right now" and then you cite examples of big underdogs pulling off unexpected victories. The narrative of your post isn't "schedule is everything", it's "Any Given Sunday".

    Wrong.

Vegas will have us favored in our next five games. I trust Vegas more than anyone, even myself. According to Vegas, they had us losing at GB and at the Titans. Almost no chance we go 0-5. When was the last time we lost five games in a row? When was the last time we won five games in a row?

I can buy everything if it goes perfect against Houston, but the Rams? Not buying It under any circumstances. It will be a repeat of today but far worse because the Rams defense is far better then Tennessee's. And no they won't win against Atlanta in any scenario in this reality.

Houston and NYG are both bottom 5 in o-line and the Rams are probably middle of the pack.

  • IMO.....this next game with the Colts will determine if the Offensive Line can protect Russ....also if Russ can stop "sailing" his passes. If the Offense can put up 28 or more points....and the Defense can play four solid quarters, then we will go on the Road with a strong positive attitude. The Rams game could well be tough.....could determine our post season opportunities.

  • We aren't beating the Rams or the Redskins.

They are going to go in dry against us.

Maybe we can beat teams like the Colts. We should. But so what?

We might beat a good team occasionally, just like some of the crappier teams would beat us in years past. But we aren't going to beat good teams regularly and we are probably going to lose to a lot of average teams.

It isn't that this is a terrible team, but it is a team with some large weaknesses and unfortunately our staff is either too stupid or stubborn, or maybe incompetent - to scheme around the weaknesses. So other teams will exploit them and we will lose because of them. Repeatedly.

We have a team with some great pieces that seem like they should be enough to win. But we won't because our staff cannot use those pieces correctly.

This is a big time homer board. That's cool. The emperor has no clothes but to homers, he looks elegant. If PC/JS looked at it that way they would never look to improve. Problem is they cannot evaluate offensive talent. They are always looking to cash in on the diamond in the rough instead of the polished semi precious stones and end up with lumps of coal. They have not really hit on a player in 4 years (to include harvin and Graham).

  • We have the best offensive line coach in football and he'll have them playing to their potential by next week. Last year people thought they'd be the worst o-line in history and it turned out they were just the worst line in a decade. Cable knows how to coach! This year people thought they be the worst unit in all of sports history and it turns out they're just the worst unit THIS sport has ever seen. That's Cable!! Year after year he proves himself as the most valuable assistant in the NFL.

  • We are the biggest favorite in Vegas for next week, favored by nearly 2 TD.

Everything in here is subjective opinion, which I respect.

But this is a fact. We will be favored in our next five games. Meaning, we are expected to win our next five.

Strong confidence from a fan of a team who outside of ridiculous luck should be 1-2 right now as well. Seahawks have had the much harder road schedule as well. Atlanta is just like Seattle. Without the #1 seed they're toast. Thing is I like Hawks remaining schedule a whole lot more then Atlanta's.

Speaking of the next 5. I think we lose @Rams and that's it. Atlanta is not good on the road. Hell Chicago should have beaten them. Giants are bad right now and we'll be coming off a rested bye week and Hawks play really well in that stadium for some reason. Redskins could be tough but I think we will be a much better team by then playing at home. My guess is 4-1.

Just a feeling right? Or are you getting this from a reliable tarot card reader, If it is just a feeling, what makes you feel that way...I'd like to get some. :irishdrinkers:

Look at the slow starts we've had the last several years. Not sure what causes it but this team always is shaky at the start and starts the season a .500 team before they turn it on.

    Great post.

Everyone on here is declaring Atlanta a loss already by only looking at their record. They should have lost to Chicago if not for Howard dropping the TD at the end. And they probably should have lost yesterday to the Lions after they overturned call. They could easily be 1-2.

The NFL is all about the schedule. I don't think we are that great of a football team, but we have an extremely soft schedule the rest of the season. If we had to play a tougher schedule I wouldn't pick us to win 11+ games. But based on the schedule, we should get to double digit wins rather easily, and I think as high as 12 wins.
