We've had a problem since 2015, he's just failed to address it.

The (missed) field goals were also mostly aided by terrific field position all game. Defense played outstanding besides one early drive and then the final heartbreaking one.

There is too much talent for this offense to be so inconsistent.

I quit watching offense a year and half ago.

Makes the games more enjoyable.

For the few times you miss a decent offensive play, there is always replay.

I enjoy watching our defense. But what our offense does...isn't football. It is just playing to chew up clock but without the intention of actually getting a score.

And FGs are for when you fail. This offense seems to think the goal is to get into FG range after blowing numerous chances in the Red Zone, often because the defense gave the offense a short field in the first place.

I feel bad for Baldwin. He deserves better. But the rest of this offense is not worth watching.*

* Lockett is great when we bother to throw to him and Richardson is doing some great stuff but it hardly matters when the playcalls are so mind-numbingly stupid.

Which still makes it the Defense's fault right?

Pete is an outstanding motivator, recruiter and teacher of DB technique. And he also has the most baffling and illogical philosophy of offense for this current team.

This feel them out, run up the gut with Lacy for 2 yards to set up for "explosive" play action and rely on Wilson to pull out a miracle late is unsustainable and fatefully flawed. Slow 1st quarters have transitioned to slow halves and now to ineptness 3/4 of a game. It's beyond just a Bevell matter-it's on Pete now.

His fascination with ball control instead of up tempo, short passing attacks--the obvious strengths of this O- will cost us ultimately this season.

It’s on Pete because he refuses to terminate the employment of Bevell and Cable after the weekly epic failures.

yeah funny about that the announcers were wondering where that was too. Why is it when we get something working ie passing uptempo etc we can never stick with it.

The answer to "Can you win the game in the 1st quarter?!?!?!" should be a resounding 'YES' when at home vs a beat up team suiting up 43 players. Until Pete and Russ figure that part out, they will have completely avoidable fiascos like today.

So they didn't call the plays/manage the OL last week?

They did and they called more of an uptempo style of offense because they had no choice as we were down. This game rather than going with what worked they decided to go back to what does not till it was too late. I mean should they get credit for doing the only thing they could do given we were down early? NO, but they should take blame for not doing what was working.

We refuse to put a team on their heals, getting up early and letting the defense play loose, mixing up what got us the league as well as ball control run game to eat clock, playing with a lead forcing the other team to take chances resulting in turnovers and short fields to add more points or even if they break one knowing we have the lead and can use what has been working to score again.

Just don't get the allowance of the other team always having a chance.

simple PCs dream, play close, get a lead in the 4th adn have the defense close it out. He has come right out and said this. So there you go.

I don't get it, why can't we just go back to playstyle of the second half of 2015?? We were destroying teams right out of the gate and Pete seemed more than happy with that. I'd argue the offense is actually more talented at the WR, TE, and even OL position than it was during that stretch. We were much better at running back then but I think Russ can carry and we can pass to set up the run.

I disagree

We have B+ weapons on offense. No game breaking, A+ receivers or ribs on offense. We need great offensive scheme to fix this

There are certainly far less talented teams who are able to score a touchdown in the first half unlike this team.

Yeah, the Jets have been scoring pretty consistently with Josh freaking McCown at QB. They just destroyed the Bills, who have one of the better defenses in the NFL.
