What we learned last night

1 - We have a good offense, when we decide to use it. Wilson is our best offensive player. Maybe we need to bring Holmgren in and get the West Coast offense in here. We cannot run the ball so we should probably be doing the short pass thing and screens that mimic runs.

Regardless, we showed we can be dangerous when we are trying to score. And we CAN score. But we need to stop stubbornly insisting we can run because we cannot.

2 - Lacy sucks (we should know this by now). The guy is as useless as a fishnet condom. Please stop using him.

3 - Our secondary was great. It isn't anymore. And our DL isn't that great either. If we want to win we have to play basketball on grass.

4 - Putting the game in the hands of Walsh is putting the game in the hands of your worst player. At the end of games, the guys that need to decide things need to be your QB or your WRs, as they are the best players you have.

5 - The playoffs are probably a pipe dream. Not because we cannot make them, but because we likely won't do much when we get there.

It should be obvious the Seahawks are a bit above average now, good but not great. We lost to the Titans & Redskins before we lost our secondary. But we do have the horses to be better, it is going to depend on us essentially becoming a West Coast version of the Saints of the past few years though.

We can win with offense, probably not SB caliber but maybe better than the past few years.

Lots of solid points.

I'd add... coaching.

The next 2-3 years will be interesting for the Seahawks. I don't see a "rebuild" but more of a slow turnover. I do think new coaches (maybe not PC specifically) need to be brought in to help with that transition

We also learned that understanding clock management, timeouts and when to gamble is part of winning football games....

We didn't just learn this but last night should have reinforced the message that stupid penalties are killing us. Despite the Wilson int, despite the whiff block that led to a sack fumble td, despite the stupid fake call, despite the missed FG, Despite the dropped passes, despite the wasted time outs, and despite all of the injuries to key personnel and despite the most one sided offense in the super owl era, We still win this game if we do not shoot ourselves in the nads with stupid penalties! We constantly extend our opponents drives (some one posted 24 times?) and set our offense into deep holes by committing costly penalties. We give up 100's of yards almost every game and have lead the league every season under this regime. This staff doesn't discourage it and if anything it seems as if they encourage it. If nothing else changes this must!

Spot on! We should be 9-1 instead of 6-4.

I learned that Pete is NOT qualified to write a book titled "Win Forever".

His ways got us a title, but clearly will not stand the test of time.

This is why Sherman would not "reset" last year, and was put up for trade offers. He no longer buys all of it, and he let them (and everyone else) know that.

Bye Pete....just a matter of when.
