I remember he got cut the first game of the 2008 season and was replaced with Ryan. Dude had a huge leg but would often outkick his coverage

Plackemeier was shanktastic. He really regressed after his rookie season, much like Blair Walsh. Hope our next kicker is as good at kicking field goals as Jon Ryan is at punting. Then Walsh will serve as the same historical anecdote as Plackemeier.

I think it was backup kicker Brandon Coutu that was kept over MB.

Only God knows why Tim Ruskell felt that Coutu wasn't a guy you can get in every single NFL draft, and therefore was deserving of a "redshirt" year.

I think it was actually backup OT Kyle Williams that bumped Bennett off the squad.
