If this is indicative of Sherman being cut or traded (Atlanta?), I'd feel better about it if we'd re-signed Byron Maxwell.

I'm praying the Kam tweet is nothing and Lane has been informed he's been cut and Sherm sent him an emotional text.

I assume Lane is getting cut at some point, so if Sherman is being moved, Maxwell is going to be a must sign.

I really don't want to see Sherman go, but nobody else on the roster can open up more cap room from being moved than he can. If they at all want to hold onto Richardson, this move is probably a must.

Well crap..............I don't know what to think of this. I know money is an issue, but even with the injury I think he would have been worth it to keep around as he still has good year behind him.

I predicted one of either Sherman or Thomas was gone and keeping Thomas makes more sense. That said, I think they are cleaning house of all potential mal contents and traces of "the play" like they did with the coaching staff.

Releasing Sherman makes sense cap wise considering the potential for losing a step from multiple surgeries.

Cutting him seems pretty premature really. But they do get 11 million back for the cap. Seems like a trade would be better, unless teams are looking at the two surgeries (he just had the other side worked on as well) and don't want to take a chance. Especially w/that salary. I figured they would see how he plays this year and then extend or trade him later. Well, as much as I hate to see him go, they know a lot more about the situation than any fans do. There's always more to a story. But like Seymour said, it does make a lot of sense cap wise. This team gets accused of keeping guys too long. Yet, people act like they were stupid to keep Kam and Avril, as if they had ANY way of knowing that they would both have fluke neck injuries. NO team in the NFL could ever predict that type of thing.

Well now this is all sorts of confusing, but where there is smoke there is usually fire......I mean when you are set to have a meeting with team officials that has to mean something is up.

The rebuild era has begun. ET3 will be next. Thanks for everything Sherm you brought a winning attitude here and deserve to be in the ring of honor when your days are done. We dont win a super bowl without this guy. Good luck to wherever he goes next. Iam guessing the Raiders would gladly take him.

I think it would be a mistake to just let Sherman go. I think there has been some miscommunication through texting (like that has never happened before).

I'll believe it when I see it. Would be a MASSIVE story really. But, if the team doesn't feel comfortable with him coming back strong, they may have their hands tied here. As always, I'll wait to freak out and/or assume anything until it's official. I wouldn't be surprised if they are going to discuss a re-do of his contract today.

Well damn this is depressing. Should have had at least 2 or 3 Championships with this core group of players. Thankfully we got one. A lot of these guys became too expensive and too outspoken. This really is the end for this core group. Time to get young and hungry again.

This is the world of "journalism" in 2018. Make up a story leak it on Twitter. Then report on the Twitter reaction.
