I don't believe that's the case. He's a first round tender only because that's where he was drafted. His financial tender is most likely for the minimum which is about $1.9M.

yeah your figures right "Since Jordan was a 1st round pick, Seattle only has to give him the low tender of $1.907M for his original draft round as compensation with an unmatched offer sheet" me and the cap is like chalk and cheese :D

  • Good stuff - they must feel he’s a potential starter

For $1.9MM they just need to feel that he is worthy of a roster spot.....

Absolutely Correct. He's a steal at $1.9 million. What we basically are saying here is that if you want him, you have to give up a 1st round pick to get him. We've essentially guaranteed we can either keep him or get a 1st rounder for that $1.9 million. It's a no brainer

  • If this guy has truly turned it around this could be one of the bargains of the decade. Super star potential and he's heavy now. The way he manhandled that LT last year was beautiful.

  • I beleive it's an original round tender $1.907 million . He was of course drafted in the first round so instead of paying $4.149 million which is the first round tender value the team pays $1.907 mil.
Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

Super Bowl XLVIII Champions at last after 38 seasons. Awesome!!!

  • I think this is a big win for us. At under $2M we may have a legit starting caliber DE. We coudl find ourselves wanting to extend him long term if he show well this season. Jordan will have a chance for a lot of playing time and I'd put the over under at 7 sacks for him this year.

  • I am glad they tendered him, but would have preferred giving him a 2 year deal with a team option for the second year as my GM plan stated. But that would have required him and his agent to agree, so this is fine as well.

He is going to be a stud for us this year.......... I just can feel it!

  • The NFL did actually state first round tender last night, there was lots of confusion and suggestions that the team had actually given him the first round tender as opposed to original round tender as a gesture of good will but seems the NFL made an error and it is the original round as expected.

    Another fantastic signing.

Value is the key word and I have a feeling this could be one of the most valuable contracts in the NFL excluding rookies.
