Not too much action in FA for the Hawks yet. I like that we didn't blow our wad AND overpay guys like Paul Richardson, Jerrick Mckinnon, or Andrew Norwell.

I got a few names i'm watching closely that might be great value

DT Dontari Poe ~$6M APY
OG Pugh ~$9M APY
OG Mewhort ~$8M APY
WR Pryor ~$3M APY
WR J.Mathews ~$2M APY
TE ASJ ~$5M APY
TE Eric Ebron ~$4M APY
S Vacarro ~$6M APY
S E Reid ~7M APY
DE Clayborn ~8M APY
DE Mayowa ~3M APY

Not to mention we still have a few of our own who might come back on the cheap
Maxwell ~2M APY
Jockel ~2M APY
Mike Davis ~vet minimum
Marcus Smith ~Min
Terrance Garvin ~min

I wouldn't mind seeing them kick the tires on either Pryor or Matthews. Mewhort could be a decent pickup at the right price. Still torn on Richardson, and Poe is meh. If they do let Richardson walk, I'm leaning towards what Brock said about signing Suh. He's a game changer, and it's a plus that he won't cost a comp pick. That could be huge. I really think they should get Jeremy Hill on a super cheap, 1 year deal. Doesn't sound like he's had a peep of interest.

As far as our own guys, I'd Like to see them being back Maxwell for sure, and Smith. Maybe Mike Davis, too.

Poe for a couple years would be good. He can still get better even. Very raw athlete when he came out of college.

I like Eric Reid. Well built safety that's an awesome athlete.

Eric Reid (DB34)
HT: 6'1" WT: 213LBS.

POSITION: FS

SCHOOL: LSU

ARM LENGTH: 33 5/8"

HANDS: 10"

COMBINE RESULTS
40 YARD DASH: 4.53 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 17 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 40.5 INCH
BROAD JUMP: 134.0 INCH
3 CONE DRILL: 6.99 SEC
20 YARD SHUTTLE: 4.22 SEC

But the I look at Delano Hill and see a really similar athlete.

Delano Hill (DB18)
HT: 6'1" WT: 216LBS.

POSITION: SS

SCHOOL: Michigan

ARM LENGTH: 32 1/8"

HANDS: 9 3/8"

COMBINE RESULTS
40 YARD DASH: 4.47 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 17 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 33.5 INCH
BROAD JUMP: 115.0 INCH
3 CONE DRILL: 6.96 SEC
20 YARD SHUTTLE: 4.27 SEC

Hill has also had a year to get schooled by Kam in the system he grew up in. Even McDougald raved about Kam always showing him where his eyes need to be and what to look for.

I would like to get Reid too though. Like the way he plays. Smacked quite a few Hawks. Hell, Bowman might even be available cheaper. Reid has the activist label though so he might actually be cheaper.

P&J hardly ever score a FA in the first couple of days. That doesn't worry me much, all too often, it's just throwing money at a problem that requires some thought, not panic.

Interesting list of next tier FA. Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

MUCH better than overpaying like so many of these teams are doing. Some of the deals are just plain dumb. I can't even imagine this place if the Hawks would have done deals like we have seen so far.
