  • Who knows, maybe he wrote that after the season was over and he hadn’t been renewed? Maybe he has a deal somewhere else? I thought he played well enough to be kept but the price needed to be right.

I f he is gone I will miss him and the others but changes are a certainty in the NFL.
Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

Super Bowl XLVIII Champions at last after 38 seasons. Awesome!!!

  • Shame.

Would have liked him back. Ed Dickson's cap hit is pretty much exactly the same this season as Luke's was last season so guess they felt higher on Ed and didn't want to pay Luke his asking price.

  • Solid locker room guy, didn't really translate to the field, not terribly upset he's gone.

Good for him though if he gets a decent contract. 5th round TE from a small college.

I'm not convinced JS made an offer to Luke in honesty.

But if he did, no way did it start with a 2.

I believe another big play he had late in that game was getting caught short of the first down on a third down reception and fought forward through two guys for the first.

Yup. Luke Willson is a very underrated part of why we won that game. Had a few big moments as a Hawk, but this one tops them.

  • Thought he might be kept, his signing in Detroit seemingly returns to us one of the comp picks.

Liked him as a player, thought he needed more playing time, his blocking improved every season.

Good luck to him in Detroit.

I don't know. Not enough time has passed and we don't have anything to compare it to, but I think years and years from now we'll still remember most guys that won a championship here.

  • Luke is a TE that will be playing his best at probably 30 years old. It will be easy for him and he probably won't be broken by that time and his combine will catch up with him...or rather vice versa.

Also one of the best interviews and team personalities of all time. Dude's a character. Good luck, Luke.
