I’ve always loved birds of prey, and been a “fan” of Tamia (our mascot)

Heres a couple photos of him relaxing a bit before “training camp” starts.

Love Taima...Love Hawks and Eagles in general...

I have to say in the first photo if it was a caption this...

"Wait. You're telling me Sherman, Bennett, Richardson, Graham ALL gone?"

That's "Taima", boys. SMH...how the hell you BOTH get it wrong, claiming to be die-hard Seahawks fans?

Don't get mad at me for calling you guys out; you deserve it on this one. I can't let this ish slide. ;)

Hmm, I always thought he or she was an Osprey?

I fell in love with the Raptors when I moved out to Washougal, I go out 2-3 times a week to try and photograph them. As a matter of fact I am going to go again today after the coffee sets in :D

Taima is an Augur Hawk, native to Africa, I think. Awesome bird.

Though, when Taima retires, I think they should see about using a Steller's Sea Eagle. I think these, more than ospreys, look like the "Seahawk" from the helmet.

Taima is actually a buzzard :D

Say that one more time, and I’ll move this to the Shack so you can get what you deserve.

:{)

Did people suddenly forget what a smile means? Possibly distasteful, but still was a joke.

Apparently there is no such bird as a Seahawk....

It is known.
Been discussed here before.

There is such a bird, it's just that "Seahawk" or "Sea Hawk" is a nickname for an Osprey. Let's not give our opponents ammo for smack Mmmmmkay? lol...

And yes, Taima is an Auger hawk, native to Africa. Here's the scoop....

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science- ... 180949528/

David Knutson, the falconer who trained Taima, originally wanted an osprey for authenticity’s sake, but the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service prohibited him from using a native bird for commercial purposes. Instead, he ordered an augur hawk hatchling—which has markings roughly similar to an osprey—from St. Louis’ World Bird Sanctuary and trained it to deal with the noise and chaos of a raucous football game.

And if that wasn't cool enough:....

Taima name

The meaning of the name Taima is Thunder Crash. The origin of the name Taima is Native American. This is the culture in which the name originated, or in the case of a word, the language.
