If there really were other interested teams, what would the .... be?

Would the Hawks go for it?

It would have already been done if they would have gone for it. John has said that this was the guy they were targeting all along, so I don't see any reason why they'd trade him now that they have him.

Doesn't it depend upon the terms of the deal proposed? Everything would be at least considered if it was advantageous to the team.

It's just hard to conceive of any team making any offer that would be close to the value that Penny will be to the Seahawks and the team's unique needs. A thoroughly-researched prospect at #27 with lots of tread on the tires for what value? Jay Ajayi and a 2nd rounder maybe? Throw in a ham sandwich?

They were already made the offer last night (according to John) and it was turned down. So they listened but didn't act on it.

Also, we have nothing but John's word on this, but if it's true that they were truly wanting him as their first pick, and looked at all offers that allowed them to gain picks and still get their man, then it's unlikely that any team would want him so bad that they'd be willing to give up enough to make it enticing in this instance.

Completely agree, but don't doubt that an offer was made to the team to trade for the rights to Penny.

The fact that the team did not act upon the offer indicates the offer was unacceptable to the FO.

Jay Ajayi??? Isn't he from one of those minor league Mtn Least schools? Can he even play? :sarcasm_on:
