  • I'm not getting this pick at all. Another TE that blocks but doesnt catch the ball. Only thing I can think of is that Vannett must be a bust. We have bigger holes to fill.

Panned by Bleacher. In fact Bleacher claims another reach by Seattle. According to Bleacher the entire Seattle draft so far has been a reach. I hope we prove them and all the "experts" wrong.

BTW, they did note that all our picks so far are west coast men.

  • His best football is ahead of him and he’s a good blocker. Wouldn’t of been my choice at TE but can’t argue the logic of it just maybe taking him at 120.

Just copy and paste this response for all of your draft evaluation. Then you will just need to change the position. It will save you time in the fifth round where we have four selections.

Dissly is a good, balanced TE. We needed to add someone there.

Dickson was an entirely different player coming out. He was an athletic pass catching TE that was fairly dangerous. He's learned to block over his career.

Mayock has postive things to say about EVERY pick. It means nothing. I get that the Seahawks love him but EVERY YEAR the Seahawks pick guys ROUNDS ahead of where most think they will be picked. They want their guys I guess. So be it but it is frustrating spending high draft capital for these guys.

  • I’m honestly asking...

How is his game different than Nick Vannett’s? Wasn’t Vannett more known as a blocking TE out of OSU? It will be interesting to see the offensive role our TE’s play this year with the change in personnel.

He didn't pass block that much at UW. Strong, pretty good run blocker, but needs work on footwork and hand placement.

According to PFF he blocked on 78 passing plays and didn't allow a single pressure, a 100% blocking efficiency grade.

True, but Vannett is a strong pass catcher who can run. I won't be surprised if Vannett is the starter and Dickson and Dissly compete for the blocking role. Dickson was a bad signing.

Dickson has the athleticism to make plays downfield. Solid pass protector, too. Run blocking isn't very impressive, though, which explains this pick. Dissly is going to be a lot more physical than Dickson or Vannett.
