A broken foot isn’t a season ender, but it likely puts him far behind the 8ball in Seattle’s secondary. My guess is as soon as he can pass his physical he will be cut and the Seahawks will save a little money and jettison one of the veterans we signed who factored in the compensatory pick equation.

They can put him on the PUP list. I viewed Johnson as the primary competition for Neiko Thorpe, due to his similar veteran experience and special teams ability. This injury probably increases the likelihood that Thorpe makes the roster, though his $1.8 million salary/bonuses are still a hurdle.

Thorpe needs to show that he can be more of a contributor at CB. Conversely, Deandre Elliott must prove that he can be a reliable contributor on special teams.
