Out of all the signings during the off-season perhaps the most underrated IMO were that of Johnson and Stephen to shore up the DL. Couple them with guys like Reed (who i think will have a huge year), Jones and maybe even Ford, you have the makings of a pretty formidable DL.

Any word though out of camp on Johnson and Stephens?

Other Vikings we've signed over the years:
Tarvarus Jackson
Darryl (and my other brother Darryl) bevel
Percy Harvin
What's-his-name, last year's kicker

Maybe our newest ex-Vikings are underrated. Maybe more of the same?

Johnson's a grizzled vet, AND he plays interior D-line...............so you're probably not going to hear his name a lot through camp.

Experienced players just use camp to get in shape and get their work in for the regular season. I do think he'll be a solid addition to the line rotation.

I think Nate Burleson, John Randle and Sidney Rice turned out alright.

Good to run across a little balance from time to time.

Keith Millard and Carl Eller weren't too shabby either. Although they were Seahawks much later in their careers.

Those guys might have a hard time making the team. They're two of the guys who cancel out potential compensatory picks, but those compensatory picks can still be received if enough signed players are cut. Johnson and Stephens are two that can be cheaply cut. Thus they have to earn a spot on the team and be more valuable than a compensatory pick (fourth round, probably) would be.
