Can’t say that in my 30 years of watching the Seahawks, that I’ve ever jumped out my seat at a punt.. but holy cow Dickson can boom it. And not just that, he still manages to kick the hell out of the ball while leaving it in the air long enough for coverage to get down there, all while angling a kick and putting so much spin on it return men muff kicks.

Thanks for the memories Jon.. but this tweet sums it up the best for me:

He basically removes the field position advantage.

Didn't he kick it from the back of the end zone to the opponent's 40?

Not only that, but the hang time almost assures barely any return.

He is like getting a basket full of puppies.

Does anyone have a clip of the punt? As strange as it sounds... He was one of the players I wanted to watch and I missed it.

He boomed the hell out of those punts, and didn't even follow through with the foot! It's like taking a chop swing with your 9 iron and hitting the ball 250 yards or something. I told those I was watching the game with that it looks like we just gained a couple mil of cap room after that punt from down by our end zone.

Late in the game part of me was hoping for three and outs so we could see more Dickson bombs.

He's remarkable.

Dude was feeling pressure, didn't fully extend, kicked it close to 70 yards, and put some voodoo-ass spin on the ball that wigged out the return man.

I don’t think he has much of a followthru. He just is very good at striking the ball great everytime.

You're probably right. His form looks kind of truncated in the gif.

I love Jon Ryan, but wow, those kicks looked effortless!

Just the intimidation factor will get punt returners thinking too much! Imagine that, a Punter intimidating a Punt Returner.

AND, that's his first time on an NFL Field. Amazing.

Looks like a punter with a place kicker stroke. He gets great contact at the belly of the ball and can somehow control the spin and direction without fully extending his legs.
Wow! Just when you thought NFL kicking was going out of fashion too...

And to think Minnesota traded ahead of us thinking we were going after the highest rated kicker after selecting Dickson.

Maybe we get a great one after a year of Janakowski. Venaturi is still out there though.

Dickson is gonna be a game changer. Every advantage we can get.

I thought he was gonna be our All Pro pick from this year's draft, and that gif alone kinda reassures me.

What a punter
