They couldn't risk the lbs and CB for special teams.

Embarrassing.

So transparent. We can see through your BS, Pete.

Why on earth would you play Carson on special team?! He's your #1 running back!

Hell, we never played Marshawn Lynch on special teams have we?!

Carroll’s second answer ...

“Carson had to play a lot on special teams because of injuries.”

You can’t make this stuff up.

You have got to be kidding?? I asked the same question....why the obsession with Penny this early?

Pete is losing it and this crap obsession with down field shots and 3 and outs is clearly Pete ball....

If you noticed carefully, Carson asked himself to sub out on the first drive. I paid special attention to it since Pete mentioned this last game.

On the other hand, Penny did do sort OK in the second half. Penny and Carson's stats were fairly close.

"fairly close", Carson got almost as many yards as Penny did on a little over half of his carries. On some of those plays there was immediate penetration and Carson was able to turn those into 3 yard gains. That is the difference between Penny and Carson. Carson can grind out the tough yards, and make the first guy miss. Haven't seen that from Penny yet.

Penny runs awkwardly. Like a rookie who still needs time to develop.

So many 3rd and outs tonight that went pass, pass, pass.

Not a single carry for Carson in the 2nd half is disgraceful play calling.

You don't take running backs who need to "develop" in the first round.

Bull Shit....Pete is flat out lying!!!

Carson played all of 2 snaps on special teams last night. :177692:

The official NFL statistics from the game released Tuesday morning show Carson played two snaps on special teams at Chicago.
Two.
He played 19 snaps, of the offense’s 66. That’s a load he, heck, any NFL back, should be able to carry.
