2018

Week 1:
-19/33 for 298 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT
-16 rushes for 64 yards
-24 points (3 TD, 1 FG)
-Three turnovers (2 INT, 1 fumble lost)
-Six sacks against, 56 yards lost

Week 2:
-22/36 for 226 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
-22 rushes for 74 yards
-17 points (2 TD, 1 FG)
-Two turnovers (1 INT for a TD, 1 fumble lost)
-Six sacks against, 24 yards lost

We've created more raw offense, but have committed four more turnovers in a two game span than we did last year. We have also taken twice as many sacks for twice as much yardage lost. Seems like more positive plays and more negative plays. Our defense also got five total turnovers in two weeks this year and had two turnovers in two weeks last year. Believe it or not, we are putting up even fewer rushing yards than we were at the beginning of last season, mostly for lack of trying IMO.

We had 80 total yards of offense for 3 quarters last night.

That should almost be its own thread.

You cannot survive with a mediocre defense with that kind of offensive production.

Down 7 at the half, it felt like 21. But as always, if we are w/in one score in the 4th, we have a shot.
Problem is they do squat in the 1st half over and over and over again. Then play catch up in the 2nd half.
You can't win consistently with the lack of depth on this team by just going thru the motions the first half of the game.
I think we can all agree the slow 1st half starts are just unacceptable.

I think it was similar for the GB game last year, not sure. Maybe the niners game too tbh. The slow start thing was the epitome of last season and has carried on into this season.

Soulfish,

It is becoming clear, the slow offensive starts ARE BY DESIGN.

We are 3 and outing for 3 quarters so we can swing for the fences. Because of this outdated 'explosive plays' mantra that we don't have the horses for or frankly the coaching staff for.

And the running game was working early. 3 runs to the start the game, I was like "Finally!!! Let's keep doing this"
Then, yet again........they abandon it
