Why is Prosise on the roster?

There has to be a good reason why Prosise is still taking up a spot on the roster. The last time he did anything meaningful on the field from what I remember was like 2 years ago. Frankly for him just getting in the field would be meaningful. Can someone explain why he is still around?

He stole Petes gum and only gives him enough from week to week.

Pete has to keep him otherwise it would be wasting a 3rd round pick.

That really pisses me off, everybody knows how much Pete likes his chewing gum, only a bastage would do something so damned evil :192215:

They need him for the weekly game day inactive list. He seems to show up for that each week.

Because they assumed Carson would get hurt.

Because he isnt good...a one game fluke 3 years ago doesnt mean anything

It was more than one game.

I don't think anyone was ever arguing his talent. The problem is his health.

At this point, Pete and John are hoping that Prosise stays healthy long enough and has a couple games where he's active and pops..................so that he at least shows SOME sign of having trade value.

Just to cut him would not only be admitting defeat with Prosise, but every team in the league would snatch him up because he still has quite a bit of upside. So you wanna hold onto him at least through his rookie contract to try and get something out of him. Whether that's here or trade value.

Prosise hasn't panned out for a third round pick but the draft pick is a sunk cost at this point. He has stuck around because his contract is cheap and having poor availability isn't that much of an issue for the people on the inactive list anyway. We're required to have seven people inactive every Sunday and having a couple of them be cheap players with upside isn't a terrible idea.

I'm surprised to still be reading Prosise and "upside" in the same sentence.

What good is upside if you can never rely of being able to tap into it?

He has gone from 30 carries year 1, to 11 carries year 2 to ZERO carries in year 3.

I no longer see any upside myself.

Because once we cut him he'll get picked up by the Patriots and immediately rush/receive for a 1,000 yards each and score double digit touchdowns.

Einstein didn't say that.

At least Einstein wasn't hurt all the time and suited up every math chalkboard outing.

You'd expect someone so brilliant wouldn't keep forgetting that he's wearing his Jock Strap on the OUTSIDE of his trousers all the time ,eh?
