The Rams (8-1) are scheduled to play the Seattle Seahawks (4-4) at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum on Sunday. The Coliseum, located 55 miles southeast of the practice facility, is unlikely to be affected by the fires or resulting poor air quality, but team executives have been in communication with the NFL in case the situation were to change.

McVay said the Rams are scheduled to hold a Saturday morning meeting at the team hotel in Los Angeles, and that they will hold a 75-minute practice on the campus of the University of Southern California.

I recall a Monday Night Football game being relocated at the last minute from California to an available facility in Arizona due to wildfires and smoke back in 2003.
The logistics and cost must have been staggering.

Anything is possible; winds could shift etc.

On a good note, it means the Hawks have at least one extra practice.

Forest fires are awful. Fortunately for Seattle, this fire cancelled practice for the Rams, the DC had to evacuate. Does this change the Vegas odds?

DID YOU REALLY JUST SAY “FORTUNATELY FOR SEATTLE” because of a fire evacuating players homes and causing the practice field to be not playable????

You are sick and the worst kind of fan.

I’d say more, but it’s not the shack. You are HORRID!

Guess Hawk fans like you are desperate.

If there was ever a catastrophe in Seattle that affected a game we play, I would never view it as good. My god.

The game itself is not by the fire, sorry to disappoint those of you seeing human tragedy as good for your team.

Disgusting.

There will also be a moment of silence before the game to remember those killed in the shooting in the Rams players neighborhood where many died.

Something else you can celebrate I guess.

I think you're being a little dramatic there, RedAlice. It's not like he was saying he was glad it happened; but it did. The fact that it resulted in one less practice for the Rams compared to the Seahawks is just a fact, which happens to give a small benefit to the Seahawks.

Stop acting like he said "HAHAHA that fire's awesome screw the Rams!"

Come on, now.

Disagree iRo. He clearly said, “fortuneatly for Seattle” - That is disgusting fan behavior.

If anything I’m being nice as I have to.

Beyond horrible response in my opinion.

As I said, I would not view tragedy in Seattle as good. I stand by my reaction.

To add, he noted the OC had to evacuate and how did this change Vegas oddsmakers?

Um, seems like a fan happy tragedy affects the other team.

You are purposely misinterpreting what "fortunately for Seattle" is intended to mean so as to be offended, I think. You believe he's saying it's fortunate that the fire happened, whereas I think it's obvious he means that there was a side effect of it which turned out to be fortunate for Seattle; a considerable difference.

But...enjoy your anger, I guess.

You could go to another forum where people really care to be lectured over statements on a public bulletin board.

Here many of us can maintain our own moral compass without your help.

And what was the intro phrase? Wow, people will be triggered by anything these days. I was purely making an observation. You took it to a different place entirely.

Regardless of WHAT causes a practice to be cancelled it is fortunate for the other team and a valid question to ask. If you care to stop being an angry freak show and explain how you think the DC being evacuated and the team missing a practice might impact game-day, I’m all ears. It’s an intriguing twist to the game prep. I’m sure if the Hawks win fans in LA will blame the lack of practice. Would they then be terrible people for blaming a loss on a natural disaster?

Again this was not a discussion about news portion of the discussion, because that could lead to politics and politics aren’t allowed here. This is a FOOTBALL discussion. Stay on topic.

I suppose you’ll also say people are bad because they ask how an injury will impact the game? Or how the death of a beloved owner will impact an organization.
