This defense appeared to bend as far as one could imagine today but stepped up constantly when it counted. Especially in the red zone. Great team win nonetheless!

Meh. Bend but don’t break only works when you don’t bend as much as we did today. We got gashed.

I almost feel like we’re holding our defense to the standard we held our O-line to for years. If they had a few sequences with good protection people would highlight that. But you can’t consistently win games that way. We have to do better

We should have let them start in the red zone every time. Saved some energy since they were getting there every time anyway.
Need to really shore up the run D. Wright or Kendrick’s will be big additions.

I agree with you on this. The defense will grow as they mature and play together. The misdirection plays today, like playing the Rams or Chargers, make it hard on a D, especially with Cam a threat to run, too.

But we held them at the goal line a number of times and kept them from a few crucial short-yardage gains. I'm happy with the progress they're making.

This defense needs an Earl Thomas type to play center field. Then everything else would fall into place. Right now everything is out of whack. They need 2 more pass rushers as well.

Pete needs to recognize that they have no choice sometimes and have to cover the rbs in the flat, and he has to come out of his 3 deep coverage.

This team is just a couple pieces away on defense from being legit contenders again.

A lot of missed gap assignments....not a great showing by the defense today. That McCaffrey big run was straight up the middle. Yes they made the stops in the red zone but that was more the Panthers stepping on their foot for quite a few of those. They forced fumbles but had bad luck because they weren't able to recover any of those. The defense has not been playing well for the past few weeks (they were great against the Lions but since have gone downhill). They are lucky the offense has picked it up a notch.

If we recovered some of those fumbles it would of been a lot better optics. They made a few big stops today and gave up a ton of yardage but the offense stepped up big today!

This game is was a preview of how the Seahawks are equipped/not equipped to play against these scat backs.

Definitely need to shore up defensively or teams that can run the ball like how the Panthers did today will carve Seattle up.

Not all teams are built like the Panthers and have their personnel but if Seattle goes to playoff, you cannot rely on winning games by the opposing team missing field goals.

Need to stop these offenses before they go down to the red zone.

The D stretching like a 90 yard rubber band but not further was the theme for much of the game.

The play that said it all was the extra effort a few feet from the goal line when the Seattle player literally bent the Panther over backwards to prevent the play extending into the endzone. A++ effort.

In several other televised games today there were glaring examples where a defensive player gave up and allowed the TD.

These Seahawks guys are tenacious.

Yup. Defend every blade of grass. Today a few blades of grass here and there were the difference.

There is Bend and then there's giving up 8.1 yards per rush. There is a limit to the bending.

At some point they need to start covering running backs though. McCaffrey was wide open all damn day long.

No pass rush to be blamed for just about everything yesterday

Clearly we can strip the ball, we can tip the ball we just can't cover guys for that long

D played okay but this was won by the offense. Schotty, Russ, the O-Line, etc.

Crazy to see a Seahawks offense so formidable but I'm loving it. Seems to be the direction the league is taking. Not sure I like that but it is what it is...

Gap control was the main culprit on defense yesterday. McAffrey was running straight through wide open lanes. Unacceptable and needs to be corrected pronto. He's a quality player but come on, that's gap control more than one man's talent.
