Said before the season we would recover at least a couple of his punts since guys will have a hard time catching them. Loved it, he's a field position changer. Outstanding draft pick.

I like how the ball rolls right away from the returner and back to us , everyone so far
Amazing

Or jumps 10yds sideways and goes out of bounds. Watching his pre-game warmups.... that guy has some talents he hasn't shown yet!

Love the guy!

I do believe though that he is responsible for the last missed extra point. He set it, then moved it. That's to be expected though from a rookie that's never held before.

Kudos to Sebastian for not bringing it up.

Pretty sure he held in college, but not for a lefty. That's gotta be a little tough to get used to.

Just listened to DDM hour 1 and Pete said "Mike had trouble getting his hand out of the way."

I remember seeing an interview from a kicker and he said it takes all 3, center, holder, and kicker to get a good kick off.

It has to be fast to prevent it being blocked (Shaquem is going to block one before the season is out).

The Center has to get the elevation and direction correct so that the holder doesn't have to move to catch it.

The holder has to get it down quickly, and spin the laces out of the way. while keeping his hands from getting mangled.

The kicker can't move too soon or too late or it throws the timing off, and the kick could fail.

The whole thing has to work like clockwork, time after time, after time, because it only takes the tiniest bit of inaccuracy for the ball to miss the uprights.

Jon Ryan was the best at it, and Big Balls Dickson has been almost flawless. Moving up to draft this guy was absolute genius by Pete and John. I don't think there's ever been another punter in the history of the game that has been voted the MVP of a Bowl Game.

I stand corrected

#AcademyTexasBowl. He is the first non-offensive player to be named MVP in Texas Bowl history and is the 2nd-ever punter to be named MVP of a bowl game (Florida State P Graham Gano was named MVP of the 2008 Champs Sports Bowl)
