Kuechly is a great LB but Wagner is the best. Taken the entire unit under his wing. Getting Kendricks back is huge too, no huge plays tonight but he was all over the field, knows his assignment, and holds contain well. Young secondary starting to get some swagger too, especially against a solid WR Corp.

Running game continues to roll, Carson should hit 1,000 yards! Few of his runs dragged multiple defenders, Ive missed a running game like this.

Passing game .... eeeeuughhhhh.....

Definitely missed Baldwin tonight, but yeah they locked Russ and company down for sure.

Minnesota has a legit D

Yes, they have a strong D but Schotty ball wore them down. They were a lot slower off the line by the 4th quarter. Same thing we did to teams back in the Beastmode days.

Appropriate that Carson pummeled his way in for our only TD.

LOVE IT.

Kendrick’s changes everything imo. Night and day difference. If Wright can get healthy watch out.

Yeah, they're #8 per DVOA for a reason.

Vikings D is really, really good. That said, definitely had some opportunities to burn them over the middle with a TE seam or crossing routes when they sent the house (entire second half). I think an occasional screen would have worked well too. Team is too reliant on go routes and against a secondary who runs stride for stride while pressing the bejesus out of you, would have liked to see a little more creativity.

71 passing yards is...bad (Russ definitely deserves some blame). Not too upset because it was an awesome win and the D/running game was terrific, however the offense needs to buy the defense lunch this week for keeping them out of the end zone multiple times. I don't know if they could have moved the ball through the air if needed late in the game. Seemed like any time running the ball on first and second didn't work, passing plays were an easy third down stop. Which is my #1 concern since it puts soo much pressure on the offense to convert obvious passing downs if they are only passing it a handful of times.

Again, don't want to be negative since this was a big time win likely securing a playoff spot against a team who SHOULD be a Super Bowl contender and they ran the ball down an excellent run D's throat.

Was this the first time we really altered the defence to specifically take away something the opponent did (ie doubling Diggs and Theilen so much), vs going with the base defense most of the time and daring the other team to beat it?

Kenny Norton's got some new toys and he's starting to bring them out to play with. Love it.

As a STH 12, I’ve realized that the 12’s are defenders. We are there for the defense. So when the defense plays well, the fans get far more into it. They encourage us and we encourage them.

That’s why last nights game was as fun as it gets for a 12. TV 12’s maybe frustrated by a 3-0 game into the 4 th quarter, but stadium 12’s ride with the defense.

Oh I LOVED the 3-0 game! In this era of 40 some point games, I love smash mouth running and stifling defense!

Passing game does need work, hopefully ADB comes back soon. Run game looks good and the only question now is will they end up 10-6 or 11-5 heading to Dallas for a rematch with the Cowboys. I think they could pull out a win vs. the Chiefs. The Chiefs have a good O but they've struggled against good D's. They do look susceptible to a good running attack which the thankfully the Hawks have.

Yes, the passing game needs to be better.

But look what happened to the Rams in Chicago and the Saints in Dallas. Fantastic offenses with pro-bowl QBs playing great defenses makes the QBs look average at best. Look at our own SB win against Peyton Manning. He got some yards/completions, but also threw a couple picks (and at least one other that could have been), and only got in the EZ once.

It doesn't make him a bad QB; it means a great defense is much more difficult to beat, especially late in the season when defensive cords. and coaches have a lot of offense film.
