Here's some excellent film of Simmons CRUSHING it at RG. Are we sure he's a rookie?

Clear cut body mover. Made Sheldon Richardson look below average and by the last Chris Carson run, Richardson wanted no part of Simmons.

Unfortunately he seems to not inspire Ifedi's play like Fluker does but that's probably more on Ifedi than a Jordan Simmons problem.

He's been a pleasant surprise!

He has really good feet, always seems to be moving them to drive block or trying to stay in front of rushers. And man when he locks on to those guys when he's run blocking, he's just relentless. :2thumbs:

Really like this guy.

He was on the Raiders practice squad all of last year according to wiki. (I thought he was a rookie too!)

Got to thank Tom Cable for cutting him.

Tom Cable is an excellent judge of talent.

Doubt that. He'd probably pick up a dude thinking he could convert him to a her.

The lone remaining fig leaf for cable was that somehow sweezy and fluker were the reason for the OL resurgence (ignoring how Ifedi magically is now a solid player after cable left)

We are piling up rush yards and protecting well against stacked D lines like the Vikings.

Unless sweezy is the magic bean all by himself the case is closed. Cable is a black hole of OL suck and solari was the pivotal offseason pickup.

I'm so freakin glad we got rid of cable! In my opinion the biggest difference between this year and last is not having him as a coach.

Jordan red-shirted in 2012, played in only one game in each of 2014 and 2015 due to knee injuries and then played as a backup/rotation guy the rest of his five years at USC. He had four different o-line coaches during that time, too.

He always had tons of potential. He just needed to stay healthy and get consistent coaching.

They should be able to re-sign Fluker fairly cheaply. He signed a one year, $1.5 million contract this year. He’s had injuries and will be a year older. We love him. But his blocking grades have been low in every game he’s played, except one or two.

And he seems to like it here. If he’s weighing a $2 million offer somewhere else, I imagine he would want to stay here with Coach Solari, who believes in him.

The only hesitation will be how they project his health moving forward. A one or two year deal makes sense.

They play the players that belong in their program regardless of position.

Other then Brown and Britt none of these guys currently have been given a real chance to show what they can do, we have and it's been one season, I don't think any of them ask for the moon, not even Sweezy, he knows what can happen and a good payday not great and a good system and team goes a lot farther once you hit the road of hard knocks.

Fluker was being labeled a bust, Simmons a fill guy, Ifedi a bust however if anyone has a chance to want to reach for the starts it's probably him, he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and being a high draft pick will want to have a big salary.

Teams may pay it now that he has cleaned up his penalties.

Another nail in the Cable coffin.
Just hope Simmons can stay healthy, that the Hawks know how to keep his knees working.
