10-consecutive wins over the 49ers. Is it still a rivalry?

Pretty amazing. The Seahawks have won 10-straight games against the 49ers, including nine straight in the regular season. They have also won 12 of the last 13 meetings. Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner have a 12-2 record against them. Overall, the Seahawks own the series, 25-15.

The only defeats since 2012 were on October 18, 2012 (by a score of 13-6 at Candlestick Park) and December 8, 2013 (19-17 at Candlestick). The last 49ers victory in the “rivalry” was over five years ago. The Seahawks are 4-0 at Levi’s Stadium.

Here’s to remaining undefeated in Santa Clara on Sunday and getting that 11th-straight victory.

:D

If the Seahawks win Sunday (if? LOL), next year they would be going for their 12th-consecutive win and then 12th-consecutive regular season win. Lucky #12.

They are a division rival but no longer a heated rivalry. Still hate their fans but I hated their fans even before we were in the NFC.

TBH the Rams have been a more formidable rival during our NFC West stint. But even that was divided by 10 yrs of futility.

Definitely not an "active" rivalry, which if it existed ended when Harvaugh left.

As for if it will be a lasting rivalry -- meaning over time it doesn't matter what's happening with two teams and they're always up for each other -- I think it's too soon to say.

For the 9ers the major lasting rivalry is the Rams, and probably always will be. Secondary would be the Cowboys, although maybe you could swap the Seahawks in there or maybe they're already in that #2 spot.

I'd guess some of this has to do with how old someone is.

For people of my age the Rams were already locked in, and the battles with the cowboys in the 90s is always going to stick. For someone younger those 90s battles may be less sticky and the year or two of battling with the Seahawks for the NFCW might mean more.

but 9ers fans don't care, all they want for Christmas is having GQ standing on the sideline with a smile, Paraag Marathe managing the team, Jed York owning the team, and worshiping Kyle as their God. Hey, they got all four, so they are in a happy place.

Beside, 9ers fans just LOVE rebuilding, which the Yorks are really good at providing.

I remember when a Chiefs player made the same point about the Seahawks back in the day. It's not a rivalry if the other team never wins. That hurt a bit because it was true.

I would have liked this post better on Monday saying it was 11 straight wins- this game makes me a bit nervous
